Problem at Mt. Baker??

Thread Rating

For the past couple weeks i have been working up at baker/schriebers. There is a crazy amount of garbage and BEER CANS along the road. I am not writing this to b!tch i just want to spark thought in people. And i understand us snowmobilers are not the only ones responsible but i have a feeling we are more at fault than others. And most of the time we get blamed. Most of us on here are not the problem but we are the ones that can make a difference. Maybe next season we can keep an eye out for trash and grab it when we are riding by. Or when your buddy throws a beer can out from the passenger seat make him go pick it up.. lol. Again not b!tchin because i will be the first to admit i have lost stuff out of my trunk, but maybe if we all try to be more aware the those damn hippie tree hugers will have less against us and less to b!tch about.

Hope everyone is enjoying summer!!

There is an EXPOSED snowmobile up by Hood Hill to the left by the Easton Glacier.Tried to get to it in June but the snow had melted.(Over 3 1/2 feet)in 6 days.It was just a boulder field by then.

I've noticed "waste bags" up closer to the top and left of Baker NOT left by sledders. It may just be a 50/50 but it only takes one piece of garbage to get things started!

It would be good to organize a clean-up crew and a chopper to fly that stuff out and give a good cleaning given the exposure. Something that should be done every so often. I would assume majority of the trash would consist of alcohol containers.

You would have to get there very early to park as close to the trail head as possible! I know back packers get there early so the closer to haul all that stuff out,the better!:D:beer;

Thats why I said chopper. We could shuttle from the gravel pit not that I've ever done that before. Drop people in clutter zones, bag it then callin the chopper load trash in cargo net fly to gravel pit, etc. etc. It would make it fun.

Going to check with the Glacier Cruisers they pick up the road every year. That is the where most of the garbage is along the roads. I am sure they could always use more help? But i will let them decide that.

But i am glad people are thinking about it now. I wasnt trying to rally a plan together i just wanted to remind people to pack out what ya pack in.

Thanks for the comments guys:beer;

Hey here's an idea!

How bout we dont DRINK while operating machines that go 0-60 faster than a fararri!!

I say keep the riding area clean AND safe and save the beer for the bar.
