Pro-rmk coolin?

No bull... Run the scratchers and run a snowflap without holes in it...The previous model years back to the edges snow flaps rivet right on...direct replacement. BIG difference in temps.

Assault Switchback and STD RMK have the NO hole flap, that coupled with scratchers will make a huge difference.

Hey guys been very serious about switching to the pro from my m8! but honestly I have ridden into July on some Fun runs in short sleeves;)
Never had a problem running in 65 degrees at 11000' as long as I was on something white. Also ran a couple hundred miles over a weekend in Wi without scratchers without ever overheating this winter. This is without a snowflap, as they break off when you wheelie on the cats. Will I have to give up summer rides if I switch to the pro? No bs real question. The pro chassis is calling my name!

i have been riding my 155 assualt with no snow flap and have no overheating problems. Granted i run 95% off trail but we have had alot of spring snow lately and i have had no issues. So take it for what it is worth. You take any mountain sled and just putter around on the trails it will over heat.

Put 1200 miles on a Pro RMK 800 155" this year in MICHIGAN and yes the sled runs HOT in low snow conditions. As long as there is SNOW under the sled drop the ice scratchers and you'll be fine. If you plan on running the sled like a 50/50 sled you should consider the Assault Switchback. We ride 90/10 Off Trail/Trail so the Pro works great for me.

Well most of my big rides were out west this year and very deep snow where my sled just wasn't enough. So really want the 155. Also I am keeping my IQ 144 so I could always just ride that when I am in MI or riding with the kids. Sounds like as long as there is snow I can drop the scratchers and be fine. The slower family rides I will just plan to ride my 08 or my wifes sled. It is the only time I really ride trails much.

I wonder if the rush front nose pan heat exchanger would fit the RMK its like a real heavy duty radiator I think it would hold up to the powder?

MH would I need to change the belly pan to do this??

You boys are trying to re-invent the wheel here. Run your scratchers, lose the ported snow flap, dive off trail into snow to cool it down, pack snow on your tunnel....It's no wonder people get on here and throw a fit when their sled hits 180 when some were impressed with the thought of packing snow on the tunnel to help out.:face-icon-small-con

^ No doubt man, this is like grade 1 of spring sledding.

Run scratchers when needed, put snow on tunnel when needed, dive off trail, spin track, etc. Everyone used to run with the hood off in the spring for a reason....

Just snow-checked and RMK Assault, guessing this one is also minus the front cooler like the Pro? Not a big deal if not, just more curious than anything..
