Pot is legal now?

I can see it 20 years from now... some lawyer will be representing a dope smoker who has COPD (lung disease) suing someone because he is now sick and disabled... the dope smoker will be asked, "well sir did you not read the warning label on the Old Gold Pot that it may cause lung disease? Doper, "umm yea but dude I kept forgetting what it said man":face-icon-small-hap

The state will have a few tricks up their sleeve!

Look at the extra taxes they stuck on liquor at the last minute. They cranked the profits up in a big way.

Who is going to sell it? What are the store hours? How many stores will their be? What is the inventory going to be? Unless they can undercut the black market medical marijuana overstock prices no one is going to buy it legally.

One store in the center of downtown Seattle with 1/8 of a gram for inventory and store hours of 5:58 AM to 6:00 AM. The 1/8 gram is going to be available for $2,000. There will be 300 full time state employees to support the facility?

How are they going to detect the blood content? Blunt dirty turkey baster needle pulling your blood in the dark on the side of the road? Do the nastagmus ( eye) test with doritoes on the side of the road. follow the cheeto.

At the end of the day the people of the state of Washington have voted to decriminalize so I am sure our politicians will embrace this and be the servants of the people. :face-icon-small-con

Not sure how they are gonna produce it but if its grown the same way it is now obviously and pot farms start legally poppin up all over the place now what happens when alot of our unfortunate forest fires like the ones that have raged all summer start catching all the pot farms on fire all over the state there will be alot more problem with all the smoke all over the state. Now everyone will be High than a kits from all the smoke, just think the whole northwest sporting a contact high. sounds like a good time to invest in Doritos, Burger Joints and Donuts etc etc etc...........

Pretty surprised by some people stating " they are totally against pot". This to me is an uneducated statement. I am a big supporter of amendment 64. Agreed it may not be a perfect bill but it sure does reflect the progress Colorado has made in the last ten years. We have become the national standard for medical marijuana regulations (state to business) and are on the forefront of the legalization movement. The state conducts studies constantly to monitor the effect " marijuana establishments" directly have on crime, teen usage and other social issues. These can regularly be found in the denver post both in print and online forms. So far the majority of studies have found little to no negative impact in most cases. For the haters out there please look it up. But back to what I opened with. Those statements sound very close minded. In fact I would go as far as to call them very "republican" statements. The voting population is only getting older, meaning the brainwashed Reganites who have long fought pot legalization are dying off. In the next ten to twenty years a much smarter and more educated group will be the popular vote. That is our generation! Raising our kids free of false claims by false 1980's studies made to fool the people. At that point all of the states will be puffing! Republicans be ready. Anyway, I puff and respect anyones right to join me or not, just don't hate the invitation

I have have 3 Dispensaries within a 5 min walk from my house in Seattle for almost 2 yrs.. i know i know. "medical".. but, its seemed legal for a while now to me.. :)
they quit arresting people in Seattle for weed a long time ago.

i'm all for it.. if anything the amount of weed per dollar i think should go down with it being legal. especially if they are going to tax it..

many regular smokers are still going to get it the same way they always have.. its gonna be tough to regulate that.

you holdin? :face-icon-small-coo

Well it is the number one cash crop in many states, why not let the government make money on it. It is the one thing we can make in the U.S. and export! LOL

As for the drug its self , Im totaly against it.

Give the government more money? Ya that will help things??
One thing is for sure. Give the government more money and it will be spent.

What happens if I get pulled over and I’m sober, but an officer or his K9 buddy smells the ounce of Super Skunk I’ve got in my trunk?

Under state law, officers have to develop probable cause to search a closed or locked container. Each case stands on its own, but the smell of pot alone will not be reason to search a vehicle. If officers have information that you’re trafficking, producing or delivering marijuana in violation of state law, they can get a warrant to search your vehicle.

you remind me of the cigarette ads that were on TV... where the stars and even doctors said smoking is good for you... inhaling carcinogenic hydrocarbons that is in smoke can't be good for you...but it took decades for people to figure that out... and remember to all of you thirty somethings that are "more educated" I'm glad you can't do math because with the support given to the current President... you are going to pay out the azz in the coming years for my health care and retirement... so I guess...thank you!

however if you are under 21 (WA Law) you lose your driver's license... THC is measured either by urine or blood testing. And remember THC is fat soluable meaning it stays in you for weeks and if a heavy user months...

That was really why I voted against the law. The supporters bent over backward and forwards to give law enforcement to much power. There is no good way to measure how "affected" you are by the amount of THC in your blood or pee. People are going to get hammered buy the law when they aren't even hammered. People who smoke on the weekends or a couple times a week aren't going to really feel any negative effects from smoking weed. Daily pot smokers are just pathetic though. You really need a constant dose of tranquilizer to get through a day? I have never seen a daily smoker who wasn't a lazy retard. Like a cartoon character, lol.

I don't like the name calling but your statement is a lazy retard comment.

How many people need their caffeine fix every day, how many enjoy a glass or 2 of wine every evening with dinner? How many need a nicotine fix on a regular basis. How many need any number of medications for pain management or other conditions. I do know people who smoke every day and they aren't lazy retards.

You can't compare weed to cigs or coffee, not even close. I can drink 5 cups of coffee and not even feel it but one toke of todays pot and I would look like I had polio. Statement stands, if you are smoking weed every day you are doing yourself some damage. Nothing says loser more than a 40-50 year old guy who HAS to smoke weed just to get through the day. Talk slow, think slow, move slow. Same with alcohol, gotta drink every day more than a glass of wine or a beer and you aren't doing yourself any good. I don't care if anyone does but daily use of any drugs is pretty pathetic.

And several tokes doesn't affect me that way, so I don't smoke. I really don't even like to drink much, not a fan. To assume that someone else is pathetic because they do smoke offends me. A friend of mine smokes a lot and is in my opinion a much better father to his children, a better overall person than a lot of people I know that are adamantly against pot.

so this "better father" that smoke dope... does he drive a vehicle after smoking? Get in an accident, even not his fault and he will go to prison just like if he was drunk (if someone is injured or killed)... just happened over here.. THC in the blood and you are considered a killer if someone gets hurt/killed in an accident. What about smoking around the kids? Are you okay with the second hand smoke? What happens if the state decides smokin dope around kids is bad and takes the kids?

One thing I learned a long time when I worked in the psych hospitals... you can't discuss anything related to booze with a drunk or weed with a doper... they know they are in control and they don't have a problem...:yo:

Jeez. This conversation went up in smoke. If you don't partake, then pass.

People are on many drugs... Pick your poison, as they say.

While this new law isn't perfect, it is a step in the right direction.
