POLARIS...WHERE IS MY SNOWCHECK?

This is my first snow check and so far I am not a happy camper.

I was talking to my dealer today and he said the Polaris rep will be there tomorrow. I'm hoping to have some answers, but more importantly my sled. This in my second Polaris. I wasn't too impressed when my 13 800 SBA motor blew at 4800 miles, but thought I'd give it another chance with the new motor and 4yr warranty. This season isn't starting out as I hoped.

Am I the only one who hasn't received their snow check?

Ours arrived in September, Alberta. You will love the sled and they have proven to be dependable. Good Luck

How have you not received a snowcheck yet?? Got mine last year in August

Did you dealer actually place the order?
Yes he did. I was talking to Polaris directly two weeks ago and they said it was scheduled to leave in a couple of days. Then my dealer called me last Thursday and told me it would be in early this week.

Hopefully you get your sled soon, all of the snowcheck sleds should have been dilivered by now. I got mine in Oregon end of September early October this year. As far as 4800 miles that is pretty darn good, should have had at least 1 top end in that many miles. Normally every 2 to 3 thousand any newer high performance 2 stroke should have a top end rebuild. You will love the sled when you get it, they make so much more power than your 13 did it's crazy.

4800 on a Polaris 800 is almost legendary... you did quite well tbh!
It may be legendary for a poo but not for others. When I sold my 2010 CFR 800 it had over 6000 miles and was still pulling stronge. I know about the poos 800 bad reputation but I really enjoyed my 13 enough to re-invest in a 17 sba. I'm hoping the new motor is everything a 2 stroke should be. Time will tell. Now if only I had a sled to prove how dependable they are.....

A friend of mine had his show up 3 weeks ago after receiving a notice that it had been shipped in August!!! Dealer, State Rep, everyone else completely baffled as to what the issue was and where the sled was. Speculation surmised that some builds did not make it cleanly through the system. After some inquiries to the factory, "lost" Snow Checks" were discovered and or recovered and put down the line for assembly way late. It will show up, but, nobody will really know when!

Update : My dealer is still looking into it. He had 5 snow checks on order. Maybe he is the last to be served since this is only his 2nd year as a Polaris dealer. :frusty:

Ah, yes, the ol' "your snow check is in the snow mail" story.

Sorry, it was just sittin' there, I had to take a swing. :face-icon-small-hap

UPDATE: After getting no info from my dealer (they are as in the dark as I am) I decided to find out for myself where my sled is. I made a phone call to Polaris. The first guy I spoke with asked me if I had received an email containing my VIN #. I didn't. He said it may not be built yet. My heart skipped a beat. He then asked for my dealers info so he could call them and get the PO #. He did but the dealer didn't have it. At this point I'm starting believe I won't be getting a sled at all. He then hands me off to a "specialist". This guy says he will do some investigating and call me back. After 2 1/2 hours he calls and tells me he had a hard time tracking it down because the dealer ordered the sled under their name and not mine. OK, now at least I know there is a sled built for me. He said it is scheduled to ship out on the 23rd. (Here we go again) from their warehouse in Canada. I asked how is it that some people have had their sleds since October and I won't get one until January. He said they were built in two batches and that there were production issues. He didn't explain. I told him I was disappointed with my experience so far, but to no avail. So because of Polaris's screw up I get to miss out on at least 4 weeks of snowmobiling of a very short season as it is. This has been a real cluster f#$% This is really going to effect my next purchase. The wait had better be worth it.

Did you pay for this sled in full, or just the required money down to snowcheck it?

If its not paid for (which I doubt it is since you dont have a VIN number), I sure as hell would not pay the price you agreed to when you ordered it. In another 10 days polaris will come out with rebates and incentives on the 17's.

This whole thing sounds a little fishy. Why would it get ordered in the dealers name? Why is it sitting in a warehouse? Sounds like the dealer might not be on good terms with polaris and could be behind on $$$.

good luck. Eric
