Polaris PRO v.s. 2011 skidoo

Yes you are.

After that post I am. I don't speak pooolaris.:face-icon-small-hap

Rode with a Pro on the weekend. After hearing all the talk on SW I thought it would dominate every sled out there. Well sorry to say it didnt, pretty much on par with the e-tec IMHO.

I bet they are all really close. I have rode them all. It comes down to a handling issue and I hate xp's. The new one is 10 times better and I could get used to it but I'm not willing to give it a chance. Doo went too far forward and they feel front heavy to me. Something is wrong when you have to narrow them up 3-4 inches under the competition to try to achieve the same effect. It made a ton of difference but they still don't sidehill as good as a pro or cat. Maybe if I rode one for a couple of days I would change my mind but I have my doubts.

polaris has raised the bar in the mountain class, with that being said I myself have never been a polaris fan, I have owned alot of cats thru the years, a couple nytros one stock and one with a turbo, a 2010 HCR and now a Etech, all have there strong and weak points and all have there day in the sun, the pro has sparked my intrest and it wont be long and i will own one, do I think it will be head and shoulders above the other three, nope, it will also have its strong and weak points as the others do, my only concern is
that they have cured there past engine problems as I ride about 90% by myself, and that would have to change if I owned a pro.
The only way I have found to cut thru all the brand loyal BS is to own and have time on all four brands.

Go screw yourself Fred. You give me bad rep when others give me good rep for the same post. Why are you here? Go away, go back to the Doo section or knob your XP. You are useless and so are your posts in the Polaris section. We know you don't like the Pro so why linger?

boy you guys gotta grow up, how old are you....

this is the first time in decades polaris has come to the table with anything worth riding in the mountains comparable to the other brands

i have been riding 25 years in the mountains and finding a polaris that ran good was like a needle in the hay stack

i am very happy for the remaining poo riders, you have a contender, and might have riders that will do the switch to poo, but polaris must remind itself to keep pushing forward

for them to go forward from here, they must make the hp of the other brands, for all that feel the tq is the same, IT SIMPLY CANNOT BE, and my last ride on the pro, it was very eveident, and will be for anyone running a higher tq machine

now for the comments of the chassie making up for the hp, that is a load of wishful thinking... and the comments of it getting on the snow quicker, might have something to do with the etec spinning the track much quicker off the start

also as for sidehilling, the pro runs a 15inch wide track, the smaller footprint naturally will alow for eaisier handling, and if they had a 14 inch it would handle again eaisier, i would not go back to the 15 inch unless the sleds got under 400 lbs again, the days in the big powder you see in a hurry whos track works better

so for me if poo wants to be a stong contender, it needs comparable hp, it needs a real track under it, 2.5 by 16 by 15?/16?

doo riders have had it real sweet the last decade, because brp has taken mountain riding serious, cat has came along nicly as well, so when you hear poo coming in with a mountain machine that is better than all, it does get awfull suspecious

The fact that u come on here sayin Poo hasn't had a contender in decades and the Doo guys have had it sweet that whole time is all you needed to say to show most of us that you are either not aware of what existed the last "decades" or it wouldn't matter if you did cause of the " I've already made up my mind so don't confuse me with facts" issue that you seem to struggle with. Most of us remember the XLT's, original 94 & 95 Summit, the Ultra, the Powder Extreme, the 6 & 700 RMKs, the 670's and the super dooper 670X which was a nicer color, the the Hi-Mark 700, Mountain Cats, the 00 Poo 800 twins, the 01 & 02 Doo 800, vertical escape, M7 & M8's, edge, Rev, Dragon, XP now the Pro. Been there seen that with all of em, and if you shine a bright light on this topic you'll see, they all had their hits and misses, Compare a weel set up XLT to a well set up 93 94 95 Doo and it was no contest Doo loses bad, Poo had motor issues but MAYBE fixed em, Rev had nun issues..fixed, 07 Rev big motor issues, 08 XP big motor issues ..fixed em, !000 Doo terrible sled 900 Poo, needed so much set up, the Dragons motor issues, 07 08 Cat 1000, under-acheiver, now the Pro and the etec, we'll see later.
In writing this it seems IMO that they've all been making changes good or bad and learning steady, but and I know some will hate this ..but the one consistent unchanged issue has been the lousy clutching from Doo, still as bad as it was in early years.
So to say any brand has been stand out is IMO just kind of naive, but some seem to need to try to convince us all THEIRS is best. Good Luck

Seriously? I took you for a 17 year old with the posts you have thrown out. Like others said, we get that you don't like the Pro. But why hang around and bash people, leave stupid bad rep for stuff that isn't bad and then throw up a post telling everyone to grow up.

LOL, relax. Never said I didnt like the Pro. It's just not as good as you would like everyone to believe. Lance the reason I gave a thumbs down to your earlier post, because it was troll food nothing more. So what are you here for Lance, troll around and if anyone questions the Pro you come out from under the bridge with guns blazing??????? The thread is Pro vs XP, but according to you it is just for the Pro guys to post and comment on. I don't ride a Pro and I don't ride an XP e-tec, but I ride with guys that have them. Freaking drama queen..... your a goof Lance.

Nah, I think he's seein thru your crap pretty clearly Crfred. I've been the victim of some of your pouty immature rep also, I am very aware of who the goof is. Unfortunately I won't be able to respond probably cause we'll soon be ove r the 75 post limit and I'll be out. Oh well, I can probably guess your response.

Ahh Slick, you always have to get involved. Slick, this bickering on snowest is your M.O. Stirring the pot, always.

You were just stirring the pot with 2 other members not to long ago, you are constantly bashing FredW. It is very clear why you are on Snowest Slick.

Maybe it is you. You seem to be the common denominator here. The Doo section probably doesn't want you either. Find a knife and walk into it.
