Polaris Pro tight foot loops

I have had it happen to me multiple times along with a few of my friends. It seems to only happen on sleds with the burandt style boards because when you get thrown back your heel digs into holes in boards and binds your ankle. The solution is simple. Take a sawzall and cut them out! I have had 5 Pros now and have cut them out of everyone and never had a problem structure wise. And they must be trully worthless because I have never noticed they are missing either. Cheapest fix on snowest!

I have several Sawzalls........ Seriously, this is what I wanted to hear. Any bending of the running boards due to this? Are you an aggressive enough rider to bend the boards?

Does anyone have comparative pictures of all the brands running board toe holds? Just curious to see them all side by side.

First time posting a pic so see if it works. Theres a pic of me jumping my assault last year and a pic of the rear skid from landing on a rock. Running boards never wiggled LOL. I wouldn't worry about cutting them out.

Sweet! Thanks for the confirmation via pictures! It is chop-chop time this weekend!!

RMKMAN44,

Sweet carnage dude!

I'm Glad I'm not the only one that has a wall of shame.

Live Fast, Ride Hard, and skid into your own funeral with nothing left to give!

I have Better Boards and the same issue with them. I'm planning on flattening the teeth that stop my heel from moving away from the loop.

Any pics of your modified footwells?
I have had a few hangups with them and would like to modify to avoid unnecessary injury.

Nice Pics!

LOL and I thought it was my inadequacy of being able to ride a two ski :face-icon-small-hap Last time I was drug I was wearing a pair of Sidi Euro rain boots so that pretty much throws out the complaint of it being a thick soled or heeled boot .

It's almost a guarantee and usually a good laugh at my expense . Screwing around side saddling from one ski to the other and than hook up a little to good and instead of getting thrown across and over the bar I'll loose grip fall back sled tries to high side but can't since my foot is hooked so it plains out and drags me . Yep , a good laugh , you think they would of taken a lesson from the rev skid that they borrowed since they where known for the same thing .

Than again , don't let your foot hook the !@#$ stirrup .

Yup, noticed the tight footholds last year when I rode a Pro a few times, did not like them.

I'm going to file the front teeth so they are tapered going toward the front, while i file down the edges. My boot got trapped in it as well but i wasn't dragged

yep

I like em too, my size 14's must be too long to get stuck, I like to use it as like an extra hand to lift and hang on with my toes while I lean and wipe my goggles and adjust other things...:face-icon-small-win

I like em too. . . other than the time i got caught up in them and jacked up my ankle pretty badly! I think the solution is to cut that horizontal bar off and re-weld it up about 2". Then you still have the option to use them to lift with the toes when carving, but dont have near the chance to get hung up in them. Boots should come out much easier. Best of both worlds . .? Just wonder if the structure would be compromised or if warranty would be voided. Any thoughts on that . .?

Pol loops

Yup hate the foot wells , size 14 boot , try to keep them out, poor idea for the king of the mountain.

When I bought my Pro, this was the first thing I noticed about the sled. I have Sorrell, Klim and Baffin boots; all will get jammed! I have been riding for 30 years now, and have NEVER used the stirrups on any sled for fear of getting hooked up and not being able to cleanly exit the sled. I won't even use my mitten retainer cords ( I cut them off) because they could tie my arm to the handle bars during a crash or hook a tree branch. All loops and extra straps on my pack have been removed. I resisted mountain bars for years; they were just another arm trap on the sled. The high handle bars expose your hands to crush injuries from glancing off trees and rocks. I never put anything higher than the seat on the back of the sled so that I can come off the back of the machine cleanly. Paranoid? Why yes, yes I am! 50000 miles so far; minor contusions and abrasions only. Be careful out there...

I've never had an issue or even thought about this before but I watched my girlfriend get ****whipped today with her size 7 boots. Looking like a bad sprain and made for a interesting ride out.

Def an issue for me too even with size 10 Klim Adrenaline. Been caught up and dragged and it sucks. Really want to cut them out but not sure if I will compromise the strength of anything.

Yep, just happened to me yesterday, currently sitting here with ice on my knee, hoping I didn't tear my MCL. Size 8 Klim boots, so its not a big foot issue either.
