Polaris Pro tight foot loops

Have this issue too, wear big baffin boots that get stuck under the foot loops easily if its twisted in a certain direction, have fallen off before and dragged a few feet due to it but nothing major thank god

The foot loops on the pro are causing problems and injuries the Klim boots are getting stuck in a rool over and ankle and knee problems resulted plus being stranded and not able to get your foot out.

I think I know a guy that this very same thing happened to as well. He might've even had to wait until his riding partner came back to help extricate the trapped Klim boot size 13 & it's occupant.........:face-icon-small-win LOL!

Not sure of the dimensions of other people's boots but those of us sporting boots big enough to get trapped under the foot loop should consider modding the "stirrup" to gain more clearance.

Most times I'd prefer to not go down with the ship! :face-icon-small-sho

Has anyone contacted Polaris about this, I have and they say they have not heard about this before??

I watch a women get dragged with the sled on its side. they are tight, I wood remove all traction in the wells back past boot heal.

I have had this issue as well. I'm going to attach a small block inside the loop so my boot can only go in so far, but not far enough to get stuck. There are times I like to use the loop as an anchor in some slow off camber situations.

I saw this thread and started laughing, when I rode my first pro a few years ago I had this issue. It was the only thing I didn't like about it. I gave the sled back to the owner and said those hoops suck, your boots get caught up in them. Now I had just installed some tube boards with traction screws on the sled and that contributed to the problem. The last time this happened I was parked and sitting on the sled I got up to get off the sled and my boot stuck again on the traction screws and the hoop. i was lying on the ground with a twisted ankle and couldn't get free. This was with small klim boots. i personally removed all screws inn the front. I cant believe people would say that they never have their feet up front. mine are all over the place, from the hood to the bumper !!!!!!
Here i thought i was the only one....... be careful that ankle hurts when it gets stuck in there.

Happened to me years ago on my 07 M, only took once to teach me not to put my feet in there on any sled.

anyone have a solution? I would love to move them 1" higher so then I could get a bit more forward on the sled. Kurt polaris was working on one, but he said it would be a while.

We used to see this more on the '11's-'12's, where people were more inclined to either install Airframes and get too greedy with the screws up front, or the other board inserts available that have all the cleats pointing forward. People were recomending a certain brand of insert (don't remember which ATM) that had the first two cleats pointing backwards to allow you to have good traction but not being a boot trap.

That was us, Feethookers. First to do the reverse cleat. :)

I Severed the Pcl in my left knee due to this issue, my fix was to install the (Mike Taylor?) vent panels with some Teflon blocks in between so my foot can not get in deep enough to get stuck again!!!

My sled was at Boost-it this summer having some CR running boards installed . Neil asked me if I wanted the stirrups opened up. I hadn't had any issues personally, but apparently some guys have. In saying that. With the stirrup, Burandt Boards and Klim GTX boots combo. If anything goes array your foot is not coming out of here. I had him do the mod. They cut the stirrup tubes and moved them up. The CR boards are far less sharp. Loved my Burants but maybe a bit to much, and tough on boots. With the Cr boards and the opened up stirrups I feel more comfortable.

So, what are the loops good for anyway? If it's structural rigidity, Polaris could have bent them in, instead of out. I have Klim Arctic boots, which are quite thick, but have never had an issue. If you're standing that far forward, I'd probably suggest softening up your front track shock.

I use them to initiate downhill maneuvers while staying neutral on the sled.

If you're having issues you could either just cut the hoops off completely, or cut them and re-weld them higher up.

I have had my feet get stuck in the stirrups as well. I make sure to keep my feet out, except for rare situations.

Lets see, Polaris sells a million sleds and every rider wears boots but Polaris hasn't heard of this problem?
3 out of 91 people on a snowmobile forum have had this happen, one had to get expensive surgery to be able to walk properly again.

Ya, ok Polaris. Whatever your lawyers tell you to say. :der:

Looks like more than three there. :face-icon-small-dis BTW, I also had my ankle snapped while simply carving a pow turn years ago. Left carve, hit a rock and as I flew off, my right ankle was caught and broken.

I had it happen on the iq chassis once... Fell off the sled foot stuck in there , got dragged for 50ft laying on the ground. My body was paralell with the ground and my foot was in there as if I was standing on the machine. I couldn't get up due to the akward position a buddy had to lift me up. Thought my knee and ankle were gonna be toast for sure... Luckily no issue.
Never wore those boots again, they were the klim adrenaline boot.

x2 for my bro-in-law on a weird off camber sidehill. He had to wait for me to get back and lift his fat *** up and back over. Thought his knee was toast, but he healed up ok. I hook my feet up under when jumping but rarely on any other terrain. Lack of loop on the sides compared to the IQ helps a bunch. I'm very aware of this riding after seeing him go down tho...

Edit: I wear HMK Team Focus

I've not had any injuries, but i have had my foot trapped in there and got dragged a ways. I like the idea of somehow raising the hoop a couple few inches so its easier to get your foot out....

That's the real reason why the ole cowboys wore pistols. So if they fall off their steed, and their foot is still caught in the stirrup, they can shoot the horse before it drags them to death. FYI.

Sounds like you guys should be contacting Klim, not Polaris... QUOTE]

Well, poo does own 100% of Klim, too.

I've also had it happen with both the original and updated adrenalines a couple of times, both with 11 and 14 boards. No injury, but when I started to read the thread, I thought I'd be one of the few that has also experienced this. The list surprised me at first. It's the hoops, but not for all boots. But this will happen again to guys this year.

Scott @ Diamond-S had a fix fir this, no? Re-did the stirrups to let you get further forward. I think it would open up ib this regard as well.
