Polaris Pro tight foot loops

Or just cut the loop off if it's of concern to anyone

I'm pretty sure completely removing that horizontal bar would void the warranty . . . can anyone confirm?

Would be nice to know if cutting and re-welding in a higher location would be acceptable and keep warranty intact. POOR design, no question about it!

Decided to modify foot wells after catching my size 14 Klims a few times last year.No damage but a wee tad scary. lots of room for those bad boys now

that’s pretty much the same thing/location I am doing to mine. I just need to have them rewelded.

Did you leave the outside of the tube welded to the structure... and bend it up into position to weld the inside at the tube on the tunnel?

I bent up 2 new pieces out of 1/2" sch.40 6061. The stock tubing is very thin and i was pretty sure it would crease or crack if i tried bending it. Don't know that for sure though. If you have the bender and tig welder it is a pretty easy job.

boots

Ive had this happen on 2 different M sleds, size 13 Klim boots. Dont wear them any more, , just wish i could find something that works as good, just doesn't have this problem.
The common thing here is bigfoot sized klim boots, probably.

Unless you took the temper out, I'd bet it was 6063-T6. 6061-T6 will break if you try to bend it without taking the temper out ( heating to 300 degrees F). At that point you may have just as well made it from a 5000 series alloy because the strength is gone.

i actually cut mine out and did some trimming/grinding/shaping to make them fit nicely in the new location. i did not do any bending. there will be nice overlap of material to weld them back together.

Ask and you shall receive:

Bolt on adjustable installation and you can still use the outside of the hoop for a hook without catching your boot(lower pic).

You can get them here: http://everettsports.net/anklesavers.html

I don't want to bash your product, it looks like it would accomplish the problem nicely and it appears to be well made, but isn't this type of fix counter productive to the idea of "rider forward" positioning? You have just lost 3" inches of forward weight transitioning. Personally, I use that area of running board quite often. JMO and good luck with your product.

Looks like if you give it a good kick (say kicking snow buildup) it will rotate on the tube forward?
This might make it catch your foot worse?
Could be a liability issue......

I just cut, bent up and rewelded mine higher.
(Axys i know but similar)

Had the same thing happened to me. I do not wear Klim boots anymore because of their generous outside size! they are as big as typical snowboard boots.
I currently use Castle X Force :) A very cheap boot but it is a smallest outside size I found among several boot brands I investigated, I also need to add that this boot is plenty warm and I never got it wet inside!
