Petersville 2009/2010

I left the guys in charge of the shop today and went for a much needed quality snow ride. Around a foot of fresh in the swamps close to the parking lot, gets a lot deeper further back and in the gulleys where it hasn't been touched. Probably 18-20 inches. I'll post some pictures tomorrow. Still needs another couple feet before the shortcuts can be used easily but was a great ride regardless.

We caused quite a few mini-slides today in the gullies so anyone going back to the Dutch hills, be careful. I snapped a couple pics of those as well, they took all the snow off the hill right down to the bare ground. Buried my buddy's sled pretty good when the ledge came out from under him. Pics tomorrow

Hey Cameron, How were the conditions in both the swamps around Kenny Creek and back at the hills? Any Pictures?

Only got a few pics, I'll post them in a little bit, if you find swamps where no one has been (there are alot) 2-3' of fluffy powder. We went up the front face of the Peters Hills and they were wind blown bad, turned around because we were scraping rocks all the way. I'm betting the back side and the dutch are good if the light cooperates.

Here's one, the camera died before I could get the rest off.

Matt, it was pretty good. Go to your favorite swamp and forget about the open hills. Anything in the open is pretty wind blown. If you stay in the tree's there is good powder to be had! Its worth the trip! Perfect Blue Bird Day!!!

Fresh untracked powder all day.. That was a great ride 38 miles on the sled! :D

Surprised there is no base just 3 feet of awesome powder

Dang it, I had to work today. Heading up to the deshka landing in the morning to ride the river. But i might try to talk my riding buddy into heading there instead. My cousins just got back from there and said it was great.... Guess since I'am driving we'll go wherever I take us :D

5 of us rode on Saturday, great snow in the smaller swamps, wind blown in the large open ones, and for those who care, the trails to get you out there are in great shape. We avoided the road, so I don't know what kind of shape it's in.
