Paying to retrieve 2 sleds from Taft, MT area

The base still has 80+ inches at the Ski Resort. Once the base is down, we'll be able to look and update. We are hoping that will be the end of the month. All of this late season snow has kept us waiting. I'd NEVER complain about snow at any other time but it snows now and I'm just thinking.. "REALLY...!!!??" Once we go up, I'm still going to take pictures of the recovery. There's a bet going as to which sled will/won't start. Of course my money is on the Etec :face-icon-small-hap. There will be a detailed update asap, right now just watching the snow level come down.

This really isn't "late season snow".

You're not going to see the snow level drop in March.
The snow depths are at their deepest at the end of March.

Normally, it doesn't begin to drop until April. I'm guessing you won't find them until May or June depending on the aspect of the slope or canyon. If it's a timbered north face, then it will be June.

70"? Really? What is the elevation?

HooDoo Pass SnoTel is only 6050 feet and it was at 150" on Sunday. That snow will still be rideable DEEP into June. Maybe even July.

The base is at 4711, there is well over 100" still where the sleds are, gonna be a good spring year!

So have you discussed this with you ins. company in the meantime?

Say you can't find them and presume they were stolen....will that be a hard sell to ins. given the time that's passed? Seems like it will present an awkward situation...but maybe I'm overthinking?

As many times as volunteers have poked and probed around the area I'm beginning to think they probably disappeared within a few days of when they were left.
Just a gut feeling.
If they haven't been found by now they aren't there.

I hope I'm wrong but I doubt I am. Sorry.

Insurance may find a way to deny any claim unless the were kept in the loop from the beginning. But perhaps they were?

Austrailians are having a news conference in 5 min.
Suspect there gonna tell us the search area has changed from a football field to something the size of Texas..
But here there sending help in a month or two....

Suspense and agony.

I simply can't last or take it any more. Somebody do something, now!!! It was 83 degrees here a few days ago. Ronbo
