Patrol Plans Sobriety Checkpoints

so it seems the system needs to have some room for adjustment for bigger guys that have a higher alchohol tolerance, don't you think?[/QUOTE]

Tolerance is a made up work when it pertains to DUIs, that is another example of how it is messed up. The cops says "sir have you been drinking because i smell alcohol?" Really that is funny since alcohol is a clear odorless liquid, ? HMM?

Instead of some lame azzed made up BrAC number with no real meaning, they should impose driving reaction simulators, and make everyone test the will eliminate the stupid driver the old drivers the "drunk" driver the Stoned ot tripped drivers, and maybe just maybe eliminater the illegal alien drivers! and then we could get rid of that stupid azzed MADD panel.

For every year that goes by, that you keep your driving record clean,
you should get like a "get out of jail free" card that will exonorate you from any traffic violation, including DUI.

What some people do not realize is that a .08 BAC on someone takes a differant amount of alcohol to acheive depending on the size of that person. Someone who is 4'10" and weighs 95 pounds will take less alcohol to blow a .08 than some one who is 6'2" and 200 pounds. Someone who has had 1 DUI should automatically serve 1 year in jail when he gets the 2nd and then double the sentance everytime someone is caught again. After the 10th DUI that person would be sentanced to 128 years. Seems like here in Montana there is always someone in the paper arrested for their 10th or 11th DUI. Last year in Billings we had a guy hit while waliking down a street by a guy who was so drunk they figured he was doing 75 or 80 in a 35. Killed the guy instantly and the cops found the guy and his car by following the streak of blood and guts 4 blocks right to the garage the car was parked in. The guys head was on the passenger seat after it had gone through the windshield. Is that a pretty enough picture for you guys as to why there should be ZERO tolerance for anyone who blows over the LEGAL limit? If not I can tell you about the construction worker just doing his job tyhat got hit by a drunk also here just 2 years ago. Or the guy who intentionall rammed a cop car last fall after being stopped for a DUI. or the nurse who was just killed last friday by a drunk driver here in Billings. Or the motorcycle polce officer that was hit from behind by a drunk driver while doing a routine traffic stop a few years back and now is disabled for life. I know this man personally. Do I need to go on? If so I can.

Once again, I would gather these incidents were not by people who were below .10

I know all too well about putting friends into the dirt because of alcohol related accidents.:(

I'm absolutely certain none of them were caused by 3-4 beers at happy hour though.

Then you of all people should absolutely be against drinking and driving!

It does not matter what their BAC was. By law they were legally drunk. Can you only kill someone just a little bit?

one word of advice and I aint no angel ....wipe out my family cuz you were drunk

and you will not pass go....

George Russell Weller was not drunk, but yet citizens that get a BS DUI charge get treated worse than this guy. Does anybody know how many DUI's Police get? it must be very few due to professional courtesy.

I think the penalty should be comensurate with the BAC
.10=$10
.15=$100
.20=$200
You get the picture

That doesn't even make sense!

It's almost like some people are against drinking & driving, WTF?:beer;

Must be young and dumb. With attitudes some people have on this topic it will only be a matter of time before their names will be in the paper.

If I am able to fart without crapping myself, I figure I am sober enough to drive home (or to another bar!):beer;:beer;:beer;:beer;

That is too funny rotflmao.

No I do not think you can call this an age thing. The fact of the matter is that the system is twisted. Where does the .08 come from? Is there any real science to back this number? Of the people that have killed others due to alcohol how many were close to .08? Very few I bet! And the worst part of this is that Citizens are willing to look the other way as the Constitutional rights are being stripped from them so that the police can make a quick buck on DUI checkpoints. As the Nuge would say people being sheep with their sheepy nose up another sheepy azz.

Sure, I could have half a dozen drinks and feel sober and sensible enough to drive home. Lots of us could. I wouldn't be afraid at all of endangering anyone. But I won't do it because I know I would blow over .08 and I don't want to lose my licence.
Your choice.
