My wife got her first bull this year. A nice 5x6. She has a picture up at her work. Several people have said "Palin doesnt have a thing on you." and " Keeping up with Palin huh?"

We must have missed something about Palin. What are they refering to? Where are these comments derived from?

they meant this:

To be perfectly honest she has not held a hunting or fishing license in many years but she has tagged along with her husband and father before becoming Governor.

While she has killed big game in the past, and is definitely pro-hunting, she's not really a hunter herself.

Yeah, wolves from helicopters... hehehe

So that was a dig on Palin? Backed in a corner, nothing intellegent to say.

Thats not a dig. Hunting wolves from aircraft is considered to be a good thing by Alaskans. And many Idahoans too. You just need to understand the culture of people in other parts of the Country

For the record shooting wolves from aircraft is only allowed in those areas where the moose and caribou populations are way below carrying capacity.

It's done temporarily (a few years) to reduce the predator numbers so the moose and caribou can recover. Once those herds are healthy again the aerial shooting stops. There are people in Alaska who live waaay off the road system. They rely on wild meat to live.

And Montanans too. The wolves are not only decimating deer and elk, but leaving the carcasses uneaten. They're getting into the ranches now and killing sheep and cattle. Our club president was on his way up to the men's ride a couple weeks ago and saw a pack of wolves early in the morning not far from town. Guys on ID/WA/MT threads are posting pictures of huge wolf tracks they find when they're out riding.

Ashley Judd is an imbicile.

This from an article in our local paper:
"State officials report a healthy ungulate population in the Northern Rockies, but Rose says wolves are a menace on the modern landscape and are destroying Montana’s livestock and wildlife, including elk, deer, moose - and just about anything else that makes a meal.

“Wolves were never wiped out because they weren’t native here,” Rose said. “People have been fooled” by government biologists and environmentalists “who have too much classroom knowledge and not enough field knowledge.”

Rose said he favors ridding the Northern Rockies of wolves, but that it could be too late given their prolific breeding and blood-thirsty nature.

His theory is supported by others who oppose wolves.

“I’ve got (elk, deer and moose) hunters in here all the time who say they’re seeing nothing but carcasses and wolf tracks,” said Robert Flood of Mr. T’s Mercantile in Darby. “Something is out of control.”

The FWP says the Bitterroot watershed has 11 wolf packs containing at least 50 wolves whose territories also include Idaho and the Big Hole Valley."
