packin' a gun while riding

So MPS, you have seen some stuff, sounds like maybe 2 cases in the backcountry. Being a law enforcer, you will. I am talking about the average joe, who will probably never see this.
In the Canadian Backcountry, there are over 2000 people every given day enjoying it. That is 735,000 a year. You might hear of one or 2 incidences. Nothing that really makes the news. Sure there are backcountry hillbillies nested in the woods, with firearms, but not in the common riding areas riding sleds..Clint.:D

And you are right. If you are looking for trouble, you will find it.;)

Never worry about it, If you are that much of a pu$$y that you have to have a gun to deal with a confrontation with another person you might as well stay at home on the porch.

Now for those of you who ride in dangerous animal areas you better believe that I would be packing mine right beside you guys.

marcuso, I don't know enough about canadian history to know how, when or if ever you guys had and lost your gun rights.......but here in this country we came from an oppressed over taxed over ruled country....our forefathers fought and died for the rights we have now. if we lay down and give up those rights what did they die for. thanks, but I will stand for not selling out my countries constitution.

I will keep my guns and I will speak my piece.....that is my right.

when sombody walks into my house uninvited and they don't leave after hearing the pump of one of my shotguns.....they are either def or on drugs......neither of which are good for their health at that time.

Dangerous and unpredictable.

Exactly ... man has to be the most unpredictable, violent, cruel and most illogical creature on this planet. Not being cynical, just realistic ... without a doubt the only animal that will intentionally come looking for trouble with no basic animal instincts to blame for their actions. I would certainly not draw my weapon without making a thorough assessment that it is the only way out of dying for nothing ... but it will be at the ready while that assessing is taking place.

Wow what a great thread.Marcuso, I can see the point that you make, but you dont live in the same world I do. I know from your tone that you have not seen what some of us have seen. Im not looking for a fight here, just making the point that you might not ever be in an avalance, but wouldnt you want to have a beacon?
That being said I do not carry a gun riding or at any other time. I currently dont even own one. However, I will always fight for my right to.

That much of a pu$$y? Are you kidding me? I rarely go to lethal force...I ONLY respond with lethal force when it is presented to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am always more than happy to put someone on their a$$ that wants to bring a fight without a deadly weapon. So are you gonna stop a bullet with your teeth Superman? It is simply amazing regarding some of the comments I read on here. I would think a mostly conservative sledding forum would think much different than I read. Especially a so-called Idahoan! Simply amazes me! You don't have to carry when you ride....I don't give a rat's a$$! ....BUT, I suggest you hold your tongue instead of calling somebody a pu$$y that carries. I have tremendous respect for people that legally carry...it means to me they aren't gonna be a helpless bystander when some psycho shoots people in a crowded area...like Trolley Square in SLC.

I don't want any trouble in the backcountry or anywhere....I am actually a quiet dude that likes to keep to myself. I don't like crowds and I typically mind my own business unless people force their business on me.

Marcuso...thanks for calling me Clint! LMAO! I love Clint! You don't have to carry....I don't want to push anyone to carry that doesn't want to. You probably have a 95% chance that nobody will ever confront you with lethal force....BUT by some slim chance it does happen I just hope you come out OK and you aren't one of the victims I deal with that says I wish I could have protected my friends and family.

Well I guess that is the vast difference between you and I! I prefer armed law abiding citizen's out there....it deters crime! I wish the mother in Boston was armed when she was carjacked....and that POS felon was dead instead of her as Ted Nugent puts it! I didn't suggest you take the law into your own hands. What do you think some criminal is gonna do when you catch him burglarizing your rig? Ya he is gonna let you sit there and watch him!!! haha I guarantee he would make a move on you. Hopefully you would get away on your sled in time. Yes, I prefer a civilian kill an armed criminal in a life threatening situation. When my sons are hold enough they will know what to do if someone breaks in our house! My significant other knows what to do.

You aren't sure how having your own gun would make that situation better? WOW! If my life or my family's lives are threatened by a lunatic with a firearm or any weapon that could kill...I pull the trigger my friend...law enforcement officer or citizen! You don't happen to be an Obama supporter? Are you one of those that wants to give home burglars more rights...let more people out on probation or parole?

I didn't suggest you stop a felony in progress...yes call the police, but like I said if my family or I become threatened with death I am emptying my magazine into someone or several people! Clear enough for you?

...and yes as a law enforcement officer I encourage law abiding citizen's to protect themselves against great bodily harm with a firearm! Clear enough again? ....and yes you are much more naive than I EVER imagined! ....wait let me add ignorant too. .....and I could careless if you go down to your local shooting club and drink tea as you shoot skeet or get your high paid guide to get you an elk.

Here ya go, Ted Nugent says it best!

LOL. I love the stereotypes, they come out every time, just like clockwork. Can't argue logically or without emotion? No problem, just puff out your chest and attack the guy personally - call him a few names, question his manhood, etc.., and then berate the strawman that is the "liberal". That'll make you feel better. It's hilarious really. :D

I have zero interest in commenting further...

Thought I was strange packin while sled'n......I'm more normal!! For me it depends on where I am riding.....no reason to have "Justin" strapped to the leg when in GRand Lake....but if I'm out far away.....you betcha.

Sounds like I need to start packing everytime I go....especially with you CRAZY SLEDDERS!

:rolleyes::beer;:beer;:beer;
