Heres a little bit of trivia for ya.
Ronald Reagon started out a democrat and changed parties.
Another bit of info.
The partison fighting you see now in washington was unheard of till the Clinton years. Oh there were partison fights once in a while, but today it is the norm. Bills will be killed just because the other party put it forward.
Washington doesn't work anymore. Hasn't in 20 years.

As for the law of the land.
You have to understand where I come from concerning the law.
Personal responcibility is the be all and end all of law to me.
I think the federal government should only have control of the military and commerce when it deals with other countries. The states can deal with roads and such much better than the government.
I believe in the constitution and the bill of rights.
I believe in controling our borders and who does and doesn't cross them.
I could care less what you do, where you do or how you do it, right up until what you do adversly affects someone else.

Theres a couple books I could recommend if you are truly interested.
Personal responcibility has been bred out of the US. Groups like NAACP have made it their goal to turn the country into a nanny state with everyone being a victum. In their view, there are no criminals because everyone is a victum. Illigals are justified in breaking our laws because they can, they just want to make their lives better. that same arguement can be used for ANY crime, regardless of who it harms. Criminals all just want to make their lives better.

An illigal immigrant doesn't just take jobs away.
They degrade the very basic fabric of our country, they demand we learn their language, they demand to be allowed to bring their entire extended family here, they demand that we follow thier customs, their holidays, their way of life prior to coming here, they demand to be able to do what they did in their prior country even if it is illigal here. They demand what we have worked generations for be handed to them on a silver plater. Not gonna happen.

There is no way illigal aliens will ever get amnesty without open warfare in this country.

All I stated is that I believe there is problems with the way immigrants are handled. But if you dont agree with you, your a liberal!

She went off on a rant how terrible it was for ICE to take away an illegal father and good people trying to make a life here. I would say you sound like here almost verbatim. I'm not saying you support her, but you sound like her rant the other night. Ok if a family doesn't like their father being deported, they need go back with him until they can legally come over.

So what is the problem with the way immigrants are handled? I worked border patrol for 3 years. We handled them with respect unless they gave us a reason to treat them differently, just like anyone you deal with in LE.

Yes if you break the law you are a criminal. I don't just call them criminals as you suggest....they are technically criminals...this is not subjective as you portray it. The last time I checked....if you break a law (excluding minor traffic violations) that makes you criminal. How do you know these illegals that you know are good people? Do you follow them around? How do you know they aren't child molesters? Most terrorists are well behaved and are very polite when they do their underground work in the US. So risking our national security for "good people" as you say is worth it? These are different times friend. Yes our ancestors immigrated here...but this country didn't face the enemies and threats we do now. Yes I can agree there are good people that come here illegally....but we cannot decipher that unless they go through the process of becoming residents legally. Not because some unqualified armchair quarterback in Box Elder County Utah says these people are ok and they don't compromise national security.

Anyone else having a hard time sleeping... or even going on with their daily activities??? This country is changing at a rapidly alarming rate and, to most of us, it isn't for the better. I am struggling to find some sense in all that is going on just so I can not be so consumed with all of it but I just can't.

This country is NOT big enough for EVERYONE.
Do the immigrants (legal or illegal) pay taxes?
What kind of welfare are they entitled too?

I've emailed my representatives more in the past 60 days then I have my entire life, and gotten 1 written response. I imagine if I try to call, I will get a voicemail or a receptionist telling me they are in "session" or something.

On this issue there is only 2 sides. There is no grey area. Either you want the laws enforced or you want to do away with the laws. That is the only issue.

There are conditions that I would have no problem granting amnesty.

I Keep posting this everywhere on here but I'm just a mechanic /truck driver. I don't know where to start. Lets start that country we were all joking about. I lived in Texas for 13 years and they have always had one foot over the fence of being there own country.

i have a few things to say.....if you are ready to say 'fire' we need to find another means of communication, strength in numbers, and organization is key...its either all for one or none for crap.....the risk may or may not measure up to what people are willing to lose...
