Anyone else having a hard time sleeping... or even going on with their daily activities??? This country is changing at a rapidly alarming rate and, to most of us, it isn't for the better. I am struggling to find some sense in all that is going on just so I can not be so consumed with all of it but I just can't.
This country is NOT big enough for EVERYONE.
Do the immigrants (legal or illegal) pay taxes?
What kind of welfare are they entitled too?
I've emailed my representatives more in the past 60 days then I have my entire life, and gotten 1 written response. I imagine if I try to call, I will get a voicemail or a receptionist telling me they are in "session" or something.
I'm grasping at straws here people.... we are losing our land, our money, our jobs and the people we elect to protect those things are the ones taking it away from us, are they not?

Personally, I will not do any business with a Liberal owned company. For instance, in Gunnison the tire shop east of town is owned by a Liberal guy and I will not do business with him and I tell others not to either. Obviously, you just sometimes do not know in the case of larger outfits but I think if EVERYONE started investigating the ownership of various places and did their business elsewhere it might take a toll. Who knows but at the very least it gives me some self satisfaction to know I have not purposely put a burger on some Libs table.
I am the same way with doctors, dentists etc. I will not go to one who is a Democrat. Any other ideas would be great. We have got to do something to help this country.

I wake up in the morning and feel sick to my stomach. Especially hearing that yesterday, under the radar, the Fed just willy nilly printed a trillion dollars of money we don't have. What about 5 days to review and "transparency"?
I'm DAILY writing and calling Federal and/or State Representatives. I regularly get canned responses back even though I check the box or say I don't need a response (they're not changing my mind with their spin).
If you call, you get a live person most the time except that we are melting down the switchboards on the Fed level and sometimes you get put on hold or a busy signal. They aren't even taking your name sometimes, just "oppose or support Bill # whatever".
I posted this in a thread of it's own, but this is what Missouri is trying to do to squelch anyone who has any conservative values. If you have a pro-gun bumper sticker or Ron Paul or any "third party" (Libertarian/Independent), or you are in chat rooms or have the "don't tread on me" flag and a bezillion other benign thing, like you want to learn to defend yourself or you own a ham radio, you are a domestic terrorist or part of a "militia."
After I saw this earlier yesterday, Glenn Beck had it on last night and read some of the questions "law" enforcement is supposed to read to determine if you're dangerous and it's most of us. This is the official document (I don't know where GB got the questions from).

The reading gets good about page 3. And notice all these claims about how dangerous "these people" are, they give no documentation. I think it's all made up frankly. They give some examples at the beginning of some of the whack jobs of the past, but Pen Gillette on GB yesterday pointed out the Timothy McVeigh types never have bumper stickers or do any of the things they're pointing to as "suspect behavior."
You remember these ... 3 million so-called "green jobs" obama was harping on, right?

MPS, can you find out who is making ICE guys stand down? I called my Reps today and the conservative one thought that there was no congressional order for that, it was a result of Princess Pelosi's wishes.
When I asked who gives the orders for ICE to stand down she didn't know and thought it might be ICE officials would either agree with her and tell their guys to stand down or not. So is it a regional thing? She didn't think my calling DHS would give me any more info (like they won't tell me).

I agree we need to secure our borders.... but I really believe there is a simple solution to the immigration problem... Eliminate welfare.... make them go out and get a job to survive... obviously not in some cases of true disability, but for the ones just breeding and collecting a check... Eliminate the jobs and you'll eliminate the ppl comming in illegally to get them...
we do not need to be giving welfare, ss, etc. To any illegal aliens at all. Even if they do have a true disability. They should not be north of the mexican/us border period.
That's a good portion of the answer, and it would save the gov't a whole lot of welfare and SS dollars. This would also curb the illegal immigration a fair amount I believe, because it would force all the lazy Americans to get off their @sses and get a job too. More Americans picking up the jobs would provide less work for immigrants, keeping more of them at home in mehico.
To deal with the illegals (and recent legal immigrants) is almost as easy. You ever see how almost every mexican fills out their I-9 when starting a job?
They always claim the max # of exemptions or dependents and have very little tax pulled out of their checks. That way when they get busted for not filing taxes, they just buy a new ID and SSN and aren't out much $$.
Here's what the gov't should do: Take any hispanics that have, say, less than 3 or 5 years of legit tax returns and force them to claim 0 dependents for a certian period of time, maybe 5-8 years. After sucessfully filing accurate tax returns for that period of time (if they do this, they really won't be out the additional tax$ witheld for those years, because their tax returns will balance it out), grant them the ability to claim dependents as they see fit.
This will generate a huge amount of revenue for the govt from the illegals that now get taxed at the max rate and have no way to recover it.
Still can't control how much $ they send out of the country back to their familia, but it would insure that the US is getting their fair share of taxes out of them.

I can try bro....when I asked one of them yesterday he said it was just an order from the heads of ICE. I don't know why or how they issued that order and yes it is a nationwide order. I asked that flat out and he said it was nationwide....they cannot arrest illegals that don't have criminal warrants.
I got on hear briefly during work JSCC, but we will talk tonight...I have to go arrest someone for 85k in welfare fraud...oh ya BTW, most illegals scam the welfare system...even the "good ones" you speak of. I have all kinds of "talking points" to bring up. You might want to consult with your local illegal advocates....it may sharpen your "talking points." Not that I haven't heard them. Oh ya, you sound just like Pelosi when you post on here....not a good thing.

I agree! but I'm not talking about giving welfare to illegals... i'm talking about welfare to anyone... eliminate the hand outs to US citizens and make them go out and get a job.... Take BACK the jobs that the illegals are taking... And crack down on employers that KNOWINGLY hire illegals...
US citizens are not willing to shovel sh!t, work the kill floor in packing plants, do road construction, or any other manual labor job any more because they are spoiled.... They'd rather sit at home and collect a check than work for a living...
Eliminate the hand outs and you'll eliminate the illegals.... they are here because there are jobs and ppl willing to hire them...

On this issue there is only 2 sides. There is no grey area. Either you want the laws enforced or you want to do away with the laws. That is the only issue.
I Don't give a hoot if they are "nice guys" or not. i don't care if they work hard. I don't care if they have kids or not. THEY BROKE THE LAW AND I WILL NOT ALLOW THEM TO GET AWAY WITH IT. Period.
As for getting a backbone and standing on my own feet. No problem. I promise if they pass amnesty I will stand up all right. I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees. I fought for this country, I won't allow a bunch of anti-law socialist destroy this country all in the name of feelings.
As for political beliefs, this isn't about political beliefs. This is about THE LAW. They broke it and I won't allow them to get away scott free.
There are conditions that I would have no problem granting amnesty.
I just know that the liberals arn't interested in ANY enforcement. They only want to grant amnesty so they can further their own anti-border, socialist BS.

I could give a sh!t less who you think I sound like. You are about as far off base as anyone on here. If you actually took the time to read my posts, you would see I did not agree with this. All I stated is that I believe there is problems with the way immigrants are handled. But if you dont agree with you, your a liberal!
Read a book, go to school, do something. But for god's sake, get a grip!
Not defending the actions but I think it has more to do with ICE having their hand too full. They cannot do a good job when they are dealing with so many people. It is sort of like de-criminalizing marijuana. They are going to push their efforts towards violent criminals first. A guy that is here illegal, working, supporting his family, and obeying the law (other than not having citizenship of course) is going to be temporarily allowed to do that. The guy that is here selling drugs, committing crimes, stealing, raping, etc is who they really want out of this country.
It is a simple task of prioritizing who you want to deport.
