Sledstew, Kelsey... Good point... I'm running mine with boost too and maybe that's why I feel it's working so well for me when others are feeling it doesn't?? I've been paying attention to my trenches after these threads have been coming out and I don't know if it's the snow we ride or the boost but I really haven't felt like this track wants to trench!! The stock track was just folding over under the boost and doing me no good! This track is holding up to the abuse and performing NICELY!
maybe a high HP track butt not the best pow track for stockers?? I dunno, I just know with my set up I have LOVED mine!!
I hope those of you taking the chance on it have a much better experience than I did. 600 miles on a stock engine and the track is destroyed and I never felt it performed better as it 'broke in'.
Save the money and communicate with fbomb![]()

Can you elaborate on what happened to your Peak? Were the outer stiff lugs breaking? I have only looked at 2 used Peaks....one with under 200 miles and one with under 100 and both have the outer lugs breaking about half way up.
It throws a roost like the A20 in the hillclimb position which tells a story about how it is contacting the snow....and is confirmed by most of the users that its trenches more than most in the fluff but works god in setup snow. Not sure getting the best of both worlds is possible.
mh, I do agree with everything you've said, however, for the riding we do, the Peak offers nothing over the stock track and imho, actually hinders my sled in deep powder vs the stock 5.1. I played with numerous suspension setups and friends with the same sled and 5.1 track would climb higher and faster than my Peak-equipped sled. I believe the Peak will become known as the best "all season tire" for mountain sleds. I don't think it will truly excel in one specific area, but rather, it will be a great choice for people who ride a variety of conditions. We tend to only ride powder and will skip on rides if the snow is too settled. We also don't do any spring riding. So, for me, I'm looking for the best powder track. So far, that appears to be the 3" C.E., imho.
There are SO many variables when you are talking about trenching... clutching, suspension setup (even with the same skid), speed, rider skilll etc etc
The Peaks tracks DO require more break-in than most.
I've ridden the Peaks on a PRO and loved it in the deep stuff... but to be fair, that track had over 1500 miles on it.
I've not been able to get out on my sled yet this season because of lack of snow or work situations... My Peaks is sitting in the garage and I'm waiting for the opportunity to compare it.
In these recent "dumps" that have been blessing certain areas (not mine) around the west with excellent dry/light "blower" powder... the stock track excels in this type of snow. A stiff, non-broken-in replacement would be definitely at a disadvantage in this snow.
If you are looking for a track that does everything better than any other track(s) out there... It does not exist....
Pray for some good snow for me and some time off work... PLEASE!!
