New track

I was thinking about doing the same thing. Maybe just two rows of ports instead of three, but slightly wider than the skidoo track ports. Thought about hole saw then sharp chisel or razor. I'm not sure how hard or easy the track will cut.
Yeah I have been toying with how I would like to do it. 1/2" isn't very big so I considered doing 4 holes and making a big window so the corners of the port window are rounded. Two smaller ones like you mention probably would work too.

I'm sure that's fine. Years ago people were going insane trying to lose weight and went backwards. Had another friend doing things with other mods and said i don't know what you keep doing but keep beating me worse and worse. What he didn't know was nothing was getting changed and he was going backwards.

You bring up a good point, sometimes it's better to just leave **** alone. Just wonder if since so many have that center porting it's worth it for the 300LX because it definitely holds more snow. Might affect cooling too? I noticed my 165 doesn't cool as well with the 300LX. Maybe it's just worth it to grab a Doo track this time and see how that does with the aforementioned.

Will the new 3.25 work on 2022 Matrix without mods to the cooler or bulkhead? Herd it won’t, and have herd sure slips right in know issues.
It goes right in.

Basically zero difference between 2022 and 2024 bulkheads. (Very minor grinding on the ribs)

My 2022.

Great. Thanks for the reply, are you glad you did the 3.25? Or do wish you would have done something else?

I only have one ride on it.

Comparing to my brothers 325 last season when i was running a 300LX and then composit 2.8 was why i bought it.

I've run a 275, 300LX, composit 2.8 and now a 325 all on this same sled.

So far very happy with the 325

The bulkheads are pretty much identical. If anything grind down the nubs in the pic. This is with a 2.7” track, a 3.25” gets very close.

Just for reference. I put the 300lx in my 22 khaos. It’s a 3” track. Photo below

I did end up porting my 300LX 154" track with 1/2" wide x about 2" long ports in the middle where the track has a different surface. Three hours of my life I will never get back. I'm not sure if there is any change in performance but it did take a pound or more weight off it.
The paddles are significantly stiffer than the series 8. The windows are also narrower which I think leads to a little more vibration, but I thought it ran pretty smooth. Feels like more traction to move forward and probably a little more wheelie with the FTS all the way soft on a khaos. Overall seems like a great track and probably the track that should come from the factory. It will be fun to run sxs with a series 8 this year and see what it feels like.

I’m going to port mine as well but I’m going to use a drill with a 1” or 1-1/4” hole saw. That should save a bunch of time.
