It's easy for me to be against it since I have a good plan through my employer....what are others thoughts?
Will it be shot down? Partially or completely?

I think we need a single system. Either single payer, either everyone independent (no company plans), or government run.

The markets talked in the CATO article are part of Obama Care, they come into play in 2015. Or at least something similar.

You ever wonder if all these regulations aren't put in place so that the people that are already in business can limit others from entering the market place? Sometimes regulations that look like they are meant to protect the population are actually meant to protect the established businesses.

Like your other topic on here, money and greed have too much influence on our govt, policies, regulations etc....
I would love for the govt to tell every American they WILL buy my product. I would give every penny I had to support that law....um, if I was greedy.
Lobbyists, SuperPacs, bundlers....it all needs to go away. Have a $$ limit on campaign spending for every elected official. Call it regulation, but IMO the way the system works now it is often those with money and influence that regulate govt policy and who gets elected.

Good point. Though how do you get the money out of it? You can stipulate with regulation, but would that really work?

I kind of like Ron Pauls point on this issue. Regulation isn't the problem, it is the fact that our greedy congressman write the regulation and the lobbiests get loop holes put in it. If you remove the regulation, you remove the loopholes and you get people playing more fairly.

Oboma care is not built to help, its built to regulate and gain more control, they will use it to get info and do things like push gun control etc....

haha this is a funny subject. My sister is a political science major and is graduating this year and taking a year off to work full time and study for her LCat. She is a die hard republican, and we were talking about it and I asked her about her opinion about it and she said it was bad and should be repealed. Then my dad said why, then you would have to pay for your own health insurance(with obamacare kids can stay covered under their parents till age 26). Then she was like oh... So I asked her again and her response was "I go to school and study politics for 20 hours a week I don't wanna talk about it in my free time too" hahaha

Gun control is one of there objectives, and this is the single biggest power grab ever in a way it would support it.

I am not in favor of ending tax breaks, I am in favor of regulating the government and cutting taxes before it comes to that point. Which in turn will stimulate spending and the economy. which is the last thing oboma wants, he only wants it to appear he is trying to help others when in fact they are stripping us of our rights.

Supporting a 26yr old is a joke in itself, and we pay for it weather it seems that way or not. To me supporting a 18yr old is a joke.

The whole thing is take from the rich and keep the helpless helpless, nothing in there to motivate anyone to do anything but keep collecting and supporting the wrong until they gain total control.

If they can force us to buy health care, flip the tables, if they have that right maybe the next pres. will be a republican wacko that forces everyone to buy a gun and a flag and display it during the day or get fined. Prob not going to happen but if the dem.s have the right to force something unconstitutional then why can't anyone.

They have stated they think the constitution is old and out of date, they want to change it. If it is changed its no longer America.

Look at your paycheck vs your take home, you are paying and your parents are paying again.

I think it might be nice if you could get on your parents plan or stay on for a $$$.
I been paying for my own stuff since I was 13, and it really isn't that hard ( I was pretty lazy) but still managed.
There is this idea that no one can afford it or the idea everyone is a victim, its a good way to keep control of people, and pure bs.
If you took away all the bs, you would be surprised how many people would actually help each other out if everyone is being responsible.

You can already stay on a plan if you are a dependant. Just because it's mandated doesn't mean it will be free....to stay on a plan until the age of 26 means you will have to PAY until the age of 26. Just like now....nothing will be free.
If an employer is paying, then it will cost THEM more. How is that going to effect unemployment figures, bankrupcies, employee pay raises...????
Trust me....in the end, the little guy WILL pay every penny of the costs of their health insurance....just not directly.

Remember the Government has no money of its own. I has to take money from someone, so it has money to spend. Every part of an insurance policy has some cost and someone is paying for it. In the free market if someone has an idea and it doesn't work out, that person goes broke. The more efficient operations remain. The government has no weeding out process. If a bad idea becomes law, it is there forever. That is why there is so many departments in the Federal government that don't do anything. The dept. of Energy comes to mind.

There is no clearer precident that goverment involvment will only make the problem worse. They literaly cant run a whore house,post office, social security etc.etc. Only a fool thinks they would improve healthcare.

Health ins. needs to be open to free enterprise as mentioned . That is not how its done currently either. Competition across state lines needs to be allowed. This would force insurance providers to compete. The way it is now its close to a monopoly in some places Like NM where we have very little choice. All are very expensive and dont seem to cover much
