If you where going to buy a new set of after market skis today what would you buy? Looking for something different for the wifes 05 Rev 800 the stock skis are not the best.

you will get a lot of different answeres..Simmons and PP's are the probably the most popular.. I personally love simmons skis... best ski for the money IMO

i bought simmons about a month ago and they have worked flawlessly in all conditions i have come across so far. definitely a great ski imho. cant compare it to any other brand but stock poo's.

my .02

Two days in the deep on my new slydogs and I love them. Can be a little twitchy on the trail, but like having power steering in the powder. Come to think of it, my arms and back are not sore like they would normally be the first couple times out in a season.

Are you guy talking about Simmons Gen 1 or Gen 2's????

i would say that simmons are the best bang for the buck.

and regarding the gen 1 or gen 2 it really depends on the type of riding and the sled. the gen 2s are a good ski for the heavier sleds. i prefer the gen1

just my 2cents

I personally liked my powder pros on my 05 rev although I am really curious to try out the new GEN 2 simmons. The stock skis on my XP are surprisingly good but I am sure I will swap them out for something different I may give Mods or Slydogs a try

I've had Simmons (gen1)
Awsome powder ski!

1 complaint-They are prone to catching on rocks that are just the right size to wedge in between the runners. (creek crossings etc)

Question-
My '06 Summit wants to "dance" side to side at certain speed in certain consistancy powder.
Have others noticed this?
Is it a product of the stock skis?

Simmons Gen II once you get over the clown shoe effect, in the powder you can not find a better ski. Keeps the sled from diving, trenching, easy to side hill Best kept secret out there!

Put a set of the Simmons Gen II's on both sleds.
The wife is much happier. Easier steering/turning input, tighter turn radius and she doesn't get the fatigue from rough trails that she has in the past if the road in isn't freshly groomed.

I installed a set of C&A pros on my wife's 05 Summit 800 144. She absolutely loves them and liked them better than the first gen simmons. I think they are the best ski for a REV!
