New RK Tek User results thread

Are these findings at high elevation or mid and low elevation as well?

10-12k and no problem on 100% stock sled. Ran today in blower pow, over the hood..no base.....6-7ft deep.........ran with 2 stock '12..and a turbo 12. Clearly went everywhere the turbo went just not as fast. Just amazed......and

Very impressed, would recommend DI especially at higher elevation..given anything above 14:1 will require a fuel box or 95+ oct........probably 300mi on kit at 10k+.........holy shiattt....

more to come....

Anyone running the drop in kit on an 11 or 12 with a can or the stock can?? I have an HPS on my sled and should have my kit in a week or 2. Running between 2500' and 8000'. Kelsey is sending me a 13:1 head; should be the icing on the cake with the rest of my setup.

ran again today with eth chip no det issues, sled ran awsome now taching up to 8450 in morning about 8100 in the afternoon.running better every ride now, swapped sleds with my friends 11 163, noticed his really vibrated while riding at high rpms. noticable power differance, drop in kit pulls much harder in mid, and topend power is great now.:face-icon-small-hap
i wonder how much the vibration is contributing to the skirt breaking issue?

Any word on rk techs piston kit status, he's out of stock, waiting for a new shipment, I've been waiting for close to a month for my kit.

what oil is everyone running with this kit why does kelsey not recommend synthetic

go to tech on his site, and you'll find the answers, I personally haven't used syn oil for years, even on my tbo, IMO manufactures wanted us to use it to prevent carbon deposits on the power valves, just clean them more often. Also a engine won't break in usin synt oil. I believe our sleds come from the factory filled with mineral oil, and only recomend synt after first oil fill. I use shell advance. It's said that synt oils fling of the moving parts easly unlike mineral oil stick to the parts better.

For my 2013 I put in his drop in kit (pistons & head) along with SLP pipe/can and slp's stage 4 mapping. My clutching setup is MDS weights 68grams at 10,000 plus feet, purple black secondary and green black primary.

Flat out kills a stock 2013 by at least 3 sled lengths. I went against my buddy's stock 13 with GGB can.

Yes, council bluffs to be exact...feel free to stop by and take a look if you like.

Call me if you want to know more 7124205009

200+ miles on RKTeks direct replacement pistons. Motor runs very strong, lots of snap, alot less vibration. Couldn't be happier. '11 Standard RMK, 1000-2000 feet, VES Gold

Drop in kit is on its way. Can't wait to install it. Wondering if everyone is running the recommended legend oil or if ppl are running the Polaris oil and redline and other manufactures?

Does anyone know what the allowable or ideal piston to cylinder clearance should be on the RKT drop in pistons on a 2012 Pro RMK 800? Or has anyone measured theirs? Thanks

Im running the drop in kit with slp pipe in my '12 pro 163

clocking 8200-8300 climbing
7-10k ft

slp stage 4 map - added 3% fuel on very top throttle positions
1 gal race fuel per tank - ethonal plug is still in..
68g mtx weights - machined 1/2 gram off tips
slp blue/pink
stock gearing
team tied - RKT2 helix
slp red/black..

if I swap out the ethonal plug to non ethonal it would hit the det aound 7k rpm --ish - on my first rides.. put it back and added a little fuel as well as the race gas.. now no issue at all....

that being said, i have no idea what head Kelsey gave me..:face-icon-small-con .. but i do remember telling him I was ok with running a little race fuel..

and for how it runs........ my arms get a lot more tired this year trying to hold on.. the sled really rips and is night and day different than last year! :face-icon-small-hap Highly recommend this setup
