im not sure which head i think it's a13:1 seems to be getting stronger as i ride it more i didn't hone cylinders so its taking longer for rings to seat,problem only affected runing once all day just noticed the code twice
 
det issues is a pita with this kit im running 2011 with drop in kit and head ethonal chip in and running 91 ethonal with 1 gallon of race and stiil throws a det code once in a while riding 7000 to 9000 ft yesterday going up ran fine up high ran like a top comming down last nite thru the code 5 times explain that this is frustrating the h--l out of me

i would bet its lean somehwere in the fuel mapping not due to comp but a lean condition, my 13 was having det and just adding fuel never had a problem agin 14-1 comp head 91 oct fuel
 
Could u please post your boonie.box numbers, also wats your innovate afr? A brand or your own rigging?

innovate motorsports afr its a good quality guage set up, this sled is lean in the mid range especially at higher rpm at low throttle position no added fuel in the low end. but from 6500 to 7800 i have 6 in low 4 in mid and 2 in high and at 8000 and 8500 i have 2 in low 4 in mid and 10 in high. all these settings are baseline for your set up elevation and clutching, and they are set by engine sound and feel of the power i use the guage as a guide to make sure settings are not too lean which the det sensor will do for you also. i took fuel away from this and would get det back so its lagit and the afr is rights on track with these settings

Tinker, your ele is a bit higher than mine 3/5000' so I will probably have to fatten up those numbers a bit, or did u add to those numbers for my elevation?

it actually runs richer at lower elevation my afr went down as i came off the mtn so thats probably why i had less problem down low in the fields but it still ran really good down low with them numbers the computer leans the mapping as you go up in elevation
 
Tinker, ive got a boonie box commin with my kit, are there 2 types of boxes , some use 3 numbers the other use 6 numbers, is there a dif, or is one a newer modle? I don't know wat box Kelsey is gonna ship me, all I know is it's about 430$.

its gonna be the new one they are new for 13 and it has both the 5 and 13 rpms programmed in it i used the 5 to start with and then used the 13 to fine tune it from there its always in the 5 setting when you start the sled just push the select and left arrow at the same time and it putts you into the 13 rpm settings and gives you 6 throttle possition settings so you can really fine tune with this box, the 5 rpm settup has only 3 throttle possition settings its just a more broad way to tune it works great

Tinker, you seem to have a pretty good grip on wats goin on with this kit, when my kit arrives I'll get all the info I need from you lol, the last thing I want is tuning grief, I went through last year with my m8 turbo.
I was thinking about goin with a carls clutching kit as well, I don't know anything about thier stuff, but was maybe thinking usin it with this kit...

i have carls clutching and it works well i have a tied setup awell and they both are good setups, i have used these boondocker boxes for years i have one on my turbo, its really easy to use and adjust. this new box has a ton of features also its a really nice box, no problem when you get it get ahold of me i can run threw it with you i have no problem helping guys out. 435-979-1189
 
thanks tnk the reason i went with this kit is because rkt tech website says safe with eth fuel no controller needed on 2011 pro always tunning my m1000 my pro was pull and go till now anybody in utah with this kit what fuel works and where you buyin it thanks to all

it could be another problem with your sled ya they say the 11 12 dont need fuel to work i have no personal time on any 11 12 with this setup only the 13 and it needs more fuel to run right imo maybe you got a fuel issue
 
Other members also commented in the past that, the kit was lean and needed a fuel controller, that's y north star is selling their kits with a controller, Kelsey says it's at high alt where the det code is prone

He builds the "Dominator Kit"

RKT Drop In Kit, SLP Pipe/Can, PVC...he said from day one it needed more fuel.

I will be running this setup with MDS clutching at 9-12' for 3 days starting Wednesday of this week. I will be more then happy to share my results.
 
merry xmas any new news anyone have not road since saturday but leaning towards a fuel controller what one is the best and where is the best location to mount it ? one more ride trying straight 91 non eth even switched back to stock can :face-icon-small-dis
 
No gasket!?

Just got my direct replacement pistons and head but no base gasket!!!???? Before I tear down do you need a new gasket or did they find out you can reuse the old one? Need reply fast local store closes soon! Thx
