NEW custom decks

Jake quit building them because he could not make any money at it.

I think that my ramp is 11' and it works fine for me. If a sled deck ramp grips a guy out I would hate to see what going off the trail would do for him? I love my sled deck and can't see myself going back to a trailer. The fold out sides are a must if you park in a garage with other people.

When you say "Jake quit building them" are you speaking of power decks? And if so, I am not sure what king of power deck Jake was building.
Some of the past designs were pretty elaborate and costly, and probably did not sell well due to cost. I think a power deck that is cost comparative with a static deck and ramp would be a winner. A simple design deck on slides that clears the tailgate and stops at a 45 degree angle for loading. Then pulls the deck and load back to the standard position would be a great seller. A lot of the old designs would drop flat to the ground which takes a lot of mechanics to preform. Maybe I am all wet here but again I have used static decks and all kind of trailers. My very simple power deck is the best.

Hey Ultra, I'd love to see pics of you simple power deck. If you can pm some pics. Thanks

The deck I am currently building tilts to a 45degree angle. Tailgate does have to be down to tilt deck. When the deck is tilted a 6foot ramp is needed to get onto the deck. All the major construction is done, Just have to weld in the mounts for the jacks and fab up the back rack. It is also going to have a quick mount for a winch on the back rack so I can pull a dead sled onto the deck.

I gotta agree with most guys, price is key. Ramp legth depending on bob/beavertail, expandable sides would be cool too. Just something that does the trick, looks good, and... well not give a guys buyers remorse. Up here... 3600-4300 i believe for a "nice/optioned" deck.

Sliding Winch Setup

I put a 2k lb winch on mine after almost putting a ski through the back window loading after a day of riding. If you could incorporate a winch that slides from side to side for loading that would be awesome. Also, some type of plastic for the skies on the deck itself, not just the ramp that is deep enough for the carbide to ride in without catching.
