New boot time

My stompers were leaking pretty bad end of last season so it's time for some new boots. Looked at the Alphas but feel like there's not much ankle support there. Can get a decent deal on some HMK voyagers at my local dealer. Do they loosen up a bit after breaking in? They seem really stiff brand new. Has anyone tried the HMK summit boot yet? Any differences between them?

I have stompers like them fine stayed dry for over 2 years. I just picked up a pair of alphas today from the Puyallup snow show.
They felt very supportive without constricting movement. I have not ridden with them yet though.

I have had my HMK Voyager BOA boots for about 5 years and they are still almost as stiff as the day they arrived. Stiff enough in fact that they have a bend crease that comes right over the ankle bone and makes them sore after a day. On a multi-day trip I cringe when I have to put them on after the first days ride. Looking forward to throwing them away when I find a suitable replacement.

Cant remember which hmk boots i tried. Used em once and got rid of them. Felt like wearing solid ski boots. Bought Klim adrenalines and love them!

I've had the HMK boots for two seasons and they're still dry after a day of riding. I would put them on the firm side of flexibility, but that's what I like in a boot.

FWIW - The tread has withstood my pro running boards, which could be causing a fair amount damage due to the sharpness. I have seen posts on here with guys complaints about thrashing the treads after 1/2 season on some other brands.

I've been using the Klim Adrenaline GTX BOA boot for 2 seasons now. The tread looks almost new, mostly because I stomp the running boards to clean them vs. swiping my foot across them. Never have had wet feet even riding in spring slushy crap on the trail heading back to the truck.

That's what I'm worried about. I want a bit more ankle support but not sure if they're too stiff to ride in

^^^^^THIS!
second year on the klim BOA and is by FAR the best boot i have ever had.
They are warm as i have ever had as well.
lots of $$$ but if i had to do it again i would in a second.

For me the Klim Adrenalines fit perfect and keep my feet dry and warm. If they wore out, I'd still buy them every couple years. I'm not knocking any other boot because I haven't found the need to try any other boots.

Had HMK, 3 sets after warranty of first 2 sets and soles came apart on all 3 sets. Moved onto KLIM adrenaline and love them! Warm, dry, good support! Wont move away from them

Klim Adrenaline's here, I currently have the BOA system but I've had the standard as well. Both are great boots, no leaks = dry feet = a great day!!!

I ended up going with the Stomper 3's. Of all the boots they felt the best for me. Likely cause my last pair were stompers.

^Which are still essentially a heavy insulated work boot with a Vibram sole, very similar to the Danner Rainforests or Rocky hunting boots I use. Minus the protective rubber pieces and hip colors.
this style of boot works well for me also and these would be my go to snow mobile boot if I didn't already have a selection $300 work boots around.

I wear a pair of Kenetrek pack boots as my snowmobiling boot. Keeps my feet warm and dry every time I wear them. They have great ankle support, which I need because of a past injury, and I can tuck my pants into the leather upper and keep them dry. If I was designing them I would have cut about 3-4" off of the top so they weren't as tall as they are, but that is the way they come. Another plus for me was the fact that I can send them in for rebuilding if they are looking shabby or leaking, and it is somewhere around $75 to have them rebuilt. Im going on 4 seasons on them so far and they are holding up great.

Same problem my son has.

We are both upgrading to the KLIM BOA this year.

I have the KLIM BOA and like them for the most part but the adjuster knob for the upper always pops loose. Any one else have this problem?

there is 2 sections to the boot side tightens the lower section and the front knob does the top

never had mine come loose and they don't eat your socks like the adrenalin boots do.
