Planning on heading out to Bear Lodge at the end of the week. Could use some updates on the snow conditions. I hear its been warm and windy.....not good for powder.

I was up there last weekend, it blew like a SOB and made the snow hard. Then this past week it was very warm and im sure it made the snow hard. I rode yesterday on the south end and it was hard, i would expect the same for the north end. But you have some hope, it snowed most the day yesterday and has snowed most the day today. There is also snow in the forcast for wednesday and thursday and maybe some more later in the week. Even tho the snow is hard now, it makes a good base and if it would put some fresh on top you could have a very good time... I will try to keep you updated on new snow fall

I was on the Lovell side on Sat. It could have been worse and it could have been better. You could go anywhere you wanted. It hadn't had any snow for what looked like a week or more, tracks were everywhere. I did find some untouched ares but am sure it was because the wind had made it look that way. You could get stuck but had to be doing something pretty dumb to get stuck:face-icon-small-hap. It just started to snow a little as we were loading at 3 and the snotel today shows 4 new inches since sat. Heck Miles City got over a foot yestrerday! I was wishing I had my sled there

We are leaving on Wednesday morning and am gonna be riding Thursday through Saturday.

Is looking good, started snowing here in sheridan about 4 and the mountains have been socked in all day. should be some fresh pow!

SNOW?

Did they end up with any snow in the big horns yesterday? Snotel hasnt gone up. We have reservations in two weeks but the big horns is the only place that hasnt gotten tons of snow this last week. Unless just nobody is talking? any updates would be greatly appreciated otherwise we will have to maybe drive farther.
Thanks

well just got up here tonite, doesnt look like a ton of fresh but we will see

They need fresh powder on the North end. Great base, but the wind has blown it around bad.

Sounds like a fair chance of snow this week with a possible storm next week. The March dumps are starting to set up!

Not to scare any of you outa staters away, but we desperately need some more snow. The conditions around all three lodges are wind blown, VERY setup, and overly tracked. 2-3 feet of pow will do wonders. Travel and ride cautiously.

decent

I was there last weekend and the rumors are true. About everywhere was wind chopped and ice but if you head straight across the parking lot and ride about 5 miles then stay in the trees to the right we found some good powder. 18-24". But the closer to the top, the icier it got. I did hear that they got some snow in the last couple days (8"). Anyways any day on the montain is better than anywhere else. Hope this helped. And have a great ride

There is patches of good snow, but you have to look for it.
The snow Thursday night helped the bare areas in the morning, but blew off by the evening.
