Need Of Helicopter

helicopter

Whirlwind Helicopters in renton will do the job , The rate was $1500 to pull a sled out of the stampede area and they will put it at Bandera airstrip .

If it's in the watershed area , Don't even call , There going to need gps numbers and if it's close they will make you get a permit from the forest service , It's a pain .........

It's cheaper to pack parts and pay for your friends gas ....

Heli

Try some of the power companies they fly in high rise towers maybe they will do it and how bad are the creek crossings can it be done with a Rhino with tracks if so I might know a guy. Let me know. Is the sled completley F**cked or can it be pieced together to ride it out.

Progressive the only one that insures over 800cc. The cost was just under $500 for 1.5hrs. 3 years ago. I rode shotgun and had to bailout in the middle of the avalanche shute below Park Butte lookout. The chopper(Hughs500D) hovered with 2ft. of skid in a 45 degree slope just 10ft. from where my sled came to rest. Now thats service. The rear door handle was over 9ft. off the slope so I had to go back up and walk down the skid to get to the handle of the rear door where the shovel and rigging was. The slope was so steep I had to stratigically throw down the gear so it wouldn't slide the remaining 1000'. All this on a hovering chopper, in an avalanche shute on a hot day in April the year of little snow. Like I said one of the most extreme things I have ever done and would do again. Oh I forgot to mention that the skid at the rear door was off the slope like 5' it don't seem like much untill you throw in the rotor blades spinning above your head. What was worst was I thought I was going to get my first snowboard ride heli style but forgot the board. The pilot said lets see where is the sled then just floated in and turned to me and said get out here. In a breif thought of panic I opened the door and instinct took over. The only real problem I had was latching the rear door took like 20 seconds because of the sagging hinges.
