Need new boots. Klim or HMK?

I have the new Klim Radium GTX and they are the real deal.

Lots of support, water proof, warm, I really like them.

Best boots I have ever owned for snowmobiling.

I've had Baffin's for a few years and have never had cold feet but they do not provide any ankle support. That is something to think about as already mentioned.

You need to try on a few pairs and see what feels right.

X2 and they are backed by the best warranty in the industry!

I would say go with the blonde. I went with the bruinette for all the wrong reasons I guess. :D My model is bossy, (that could be because I'm always wrong) and wow does she make me sweat (honey doo list). I called the mother-in-law and asked about warrenty. Not only was customer service bad that lady was down right rude. "NO returns here mister!!!" So I guess I'm stuck with this model until the end.................HOPEFULLY:)

Well what you need is an Attitude Industries or Pure Logic Box for your model. Mode 1-Better Mood, Mode 2-Decrease Sweat Factor, Mode 3-Decrease Mother-in-law factor, Mode 4-Increase cooking and cleaning factor, Mode 5-Increase sex drive, and finally Mode 6-MUTE:)

Klim

have the KLIM gore tex boot for 2 years, shot basiclly and not very warm, gore tex water proofing failing after 1st year, but about average for a gore tex foot wear, the're cold so I use foot warmers in the insert insoles, pretty shot looking, threads hanging out all over and toes scuffed off.

Good idea, just cheap execution by the chineese in making these things. Good spring time boot, but then MX boots work way better in the spring.
For sure not an extreme back country boot, zero foot protection and not warm.

I have not tried the Klim. Rode once with HMK's. Fell on my arse getting off my sled in the parking lot when my foot stuck in the foot-well. I shutter to think what may happen if my foot stuck at a critical moment durring a technical move. Could cost me a sled or an ACL/MCL. Smaller size boots or larger foot-wells might be fine though.

I had the old klim radiums and loved them. Wish they still made them. Now I have the HMK pro boa le's and have only ridden twice with them. Feet stay warm but are sore as hell. Hopefully they will break in and be comfortable like my klims. Just my 02.

Dont waste your money on Klim. My boots fell apart after 6 rides and they would not stand behind them in any way. Then they had the nerve to try and sell me a new pair of boots. I keep hearing about Klim's great customer and service and warranty. I sure didnt experience it. I will NEVER buy another Klim product.

Just an FYI as far as sizing goes, make sure to try them on before you buy if possible but if not here is some help...

My Shoe Size is an 11-12

Klim Adrenaline Boot Size 12
Klim Radium Boot Size 14 (tried the 12 but my toes are tight against the toe of the boot)
HMK Pro Boa Focus (Hmk recommends same as street shoe size but I needed a size 14 as well)

IMHO, the adrenaline boots are great for everything but I do prefer the Radium boots for snocross or aggressive stand up riding for sure. The other nice thing as someone mentioned is they are not very wide like a snowboard boot style so they fit on your boards well. Plus, you cannot beat the customer service. The AMSOIL snocross team is using the Radium boots and they love them. Their HMK's used to get wet all the time and if they get wet in snocross, you can bet they will get wet sooner or later in the powder. Not knocking HMK, I think they are a great boot but I prefer my feet dry.

Klim or HMK.... or DC?

I am in the same boat as our initial question asker. I am looking for a new pair of riding boots as well. If I had to play referee, so far I would say a few more people like the Klims than the HMKs. I really like the looks of the DC snowboard boots. Is there much difference between sled boots and snowboard boots? Opinions?

I ended up buying a pair of airwalk snowboard boots to ride in. Just as warm, dry, comfortable, and supportive as the overpriced klim ones. Got mine for 50 bucks at sportmart. Pretty hard to go wrong at that price. Ive rode with them at -25C and they were plenty warm.

Warm isn't the problem for me its wet feet, mostly clutch side from water dripping on them. I have tried 3 different snow board boots over the years, even took 1 pair back & got new ones cause there was a hole in the bottom corner of the tongue. I've had 2 pairs of HMK's and my feet have got wet just about every day in all of them. By the way HMK's service was great, the first year I had them I got a rip in the side of one, emailed them, they told me to take my liners & laces out & send boots back. They sent me a new pair and now I have a extra pair of liners, which is great cause I have wet feet every day.

Last season after I stopped wearing my klim's I got a pair of Solomon snowboard boots. They kept my feet warm but I only got about 2 months out of them. Tore the soles to hell from the running boards and broke the plastic lace clips getting tossed from the sled and hitting stuff. If you go with boarding boots try to get ones the don't **** you forward as much. They tend to dig into the back of your calf till they get well broken in.

I like my HMK's, I usually wear a med pair of wool blend socks. The do not breath and sweating can make your feet damp. However, they do give good support and have held up well for a couple of seasons.

klim , my son loves em i have hmk wouldn't buy another pair , dont like the lace up modle as they tend to cut laces and have leaked from the start. just my .02.:(

Klim Adrenaline!

I've got about 1100 miles on my Adrenalines and they look like new! Plenty warm and dry with the Klim socks... I thought I was just buying into the scheme at the time buying special socks, but they WORK! A little stiff at the ankle as mentioned b4 till they break in, but other than that they are extremely comfortable, warm and DRY!!! ( I even stepped into a creek at 4*F yesterday and didn't even notice till I happened to look down.... feet stayed warm and dry the whole time:eek::eek::D:D:D
