Need new boots. Klim or HMK?

It kind of depends on where you ride. The 3 guys in our group all had cold feet in there Klim boots the last 2 trips, and my feet were actually sweating in my HMK's. It seems like the Klims fit too closely to the feet and the insulation can't do it's job. If you hate cold feet then I would suggest the HMK's for sure...I love mine, and the lacing system kicks butt.

Flip Flops, without a doubt the best riding sandals made. Keep your feet very very cold and wet all the time. You can't beat them and there are no strings to mess with, you don't need those bulky socks either.

I like my HMK pro boa boots. They dont breath real well so make sure you pack an extra pair of socks for the ride home. I have had GREAT experience with there customer service and warrantee work. I would recommend them on that alone!

Thanks for the suggestions....lots of different opinions here. I'll probably go with the best price.

Someone needs to start a blondes vs. bruinette's thread, imagine the posts :)

I just got a pair of Klim Adrenaline boots. I have only used them once, but they seem great. It's funny how different brands work differently for people. I think sometimes you just have to throw caution to the wind and pick one. Otherwise you might be wearing your 25 year old sorrells that way four pounds each. You know, the kind that had that big old pull out felt liner. Good luck.

I had a pair of HMK Pro Boa's for about two rides last year, and sent them back. They were extremely warm but didn't seem to breath very well. This resulted in my feet being soaking wet from a combination of sweat and just being in the deep stuff. My feet were still warm, but the issue I had was, what if I have to spend the night out in sub-zero weather with wet feet...no good. I bought a pair of Klim Adrenaline's this year and have about 150 miles on them so far with no complaints...ask me in another 4 months and will see how they hold up. I think both brand's are outstanding products, I think it just depends on how and were you ride...just my 2cents.

I happen to own the Adrenalin and the HMK boa's.The HMK's I relly liked the fit and cable system, but my feet sweat os they are often damp, but never cold. The Klim's I have only warn for 3 day this year and the keep my feet bone dry,but I find they bind a little on the out side of the ankles and the laces are trick to keep tight when tieing them, almost need Dad to lend a hand like tieing my skates as a kid.Just thoughts.....

Another for KLIM! Now going on the 3rd season, some wear on the sides of the toes, & the soles are getting a little tore up from my running boards when I kick at the Ice & Snow!
Had the 1st HMK's that came out, more like a snowboarders boot, bulky, made my feet sweat terrible.

klim adrenaline's are the ****! keep your feet dry and warm, plus they don't feel like your feet are in a cast

I would say go with the blonde. I went with the bruinette for all the wrong reasons I guess. :D My model is bossy, (that could be because I'm always wrong) and wow does she make me sweat (honey doo list). I called the mother-in-law and asked about warrenty. Not only was customer service bad that lady was down right rude. "NO returns here mister!!!" So I guess I'm stuck with this model until the end.................HOPEFULLY:)

Ok, I'm going with the Klim Boots and Blonde's :)

I have the first klim boots the old airwalk snowboard boots. love them dry and warm, also looking to get new boots are the new adrenalines the same as last years or are they better. wife has last years and like them alot.

I would have said this two years ago, but I found out the hard way that they do not provide enough ankle support. I cased out in a tree well at the top of a climb - sprained both ankles severely and broke my right foot.

Bought a pair of adrenalines the next morning and they provided enough support to ride the next day even with the injuries. The doctor gave me one of those soft-cast boots and I ended up using my Klim instead for a few weeks until my foot was healed.

K-l-i-m

Klim's have done the job for me....I do snow removal and have worn them everyday for a month now, and they have been 100 percent dry. SWEET!:D

wet feet

I have to agree with Skocz, I've had HMK's for a couple years now and I have wet feet every day, sometimes just damp, sometimes I have water squishing between my toes. Most days it's just a bit of an annoyance, my feet are still warm but wet, but if I ever had to spend the night it would be a big problem even with the extra socks and plastic bags I carry in my pack. I've been thinking about getting Klim adrenalins for a year now but I really don't like the fact that you can't take the liners out to dry. I ride with guys that have them and although they say they love them their feet still get damp from sweat. And nobody seems to have anything good to say about the Radiums, even the people selling them.
