NASCAR Haters dont open this thread

At least NASCAR didn't have to up the chase count to 15 or 20 this year so that JR would make it in. Wait a minute, what if he doesn't make it this year! What will NASCAR do if their pride and joy doesn't make the chase! I don't think it will happen but I think it would be funny if Kyle makes the chase and JR doesn't. Go Tony and Toyota. (just stirring the pot)

I went to the Phoenix race in 02. That is awesome that you are going to the Daytona 500, I would love to go there someday.

Hated the sport growing up. My Dad was a huge Earnhardt Senior fan and made me watch it all the time. Then a few years ago he took my wife and I to the Phoenix race and I've been hooked ever since. I've now been to several races and it's a whole different sport once you've seen it live. Going to my first Daytona 500 this weekend!!!!!! Can't wait. I'm a huge Jr. fan so I loved it last night too. If I wasn't a Jr. fan I'd be a Smoke fan. That dude's the only guy out there that races like Senior did if you ask me. I hate that he's driving a Toyota now but I still love watching him. And yes, Toyota will do well this year because of JGR.

Kev I didn't know you was a race fan! I was/am a big Earnhardt Sr fan, so naturally I am a big little E fan, I hope he kicks butt with hendrick! Sr is tossing in his grave because of what happened with Jr leaving DEI

Im sure after this season you can buy DEI pretty cheap. If that beotch dosent run it into the ground!

It's gonna take a little time gettin used to some of the changes. Jr. running Jarret's old number. Busch in the 18, Martin in the 8, Casey with Bud, Mears in the 5 (probably still can hear the whining from previous driver).

Stewart isn't a sellout but he had better start to grow up. He can't act like NASCAR is the WWE. SHut up and drive that Toyota into the ground. Prove to everyone that he can drive ANY car there is. Gibbs is the sellout for switching cars.

Sell out!! Oh yeah, those guys race for free don't they? No one here has ever left a job for better pay, environment etc.

Go Dale JR!

Toyota sucks!
There all are running the same car now so the Toys can compeat.
What a load.Does toyota even buid a car that has a v8?
Do they build a rear wheel drive car?
With all these new changes I'm realy loosing interest.

If you honestly believe that...... you prolly believe monkeys might fly out your but too....

The COT was built for safety, budget and competition.... thats it!

WTF does it matter... none of that Nascar engines are even close to a manufacturing motor...

I'm not a huge fan of the Toyota deal either, but geesh, just throwing out crap, makes some of you guys look like tools...

I'm not a huge Toyota fan or a big Stewart fan but lets face the facts: Stewart can flat out drive anything with 4 wheels, a motor, and a steering wheel. You have to respect the guy for his driving ability alone. Second, look at what Toyota did in the truck series. It took them a year to get their program all lined up and now look at them.

Toyota has much deeper pockets than any of the US manufacturers and it shows everywhere from the street to the track.

so they should change it up some time, like maybe making them go clockwise.

personally i rather watch paint dry then watch a bunch of cars go in a circle for 500 miles.....

I'm not sure what you saw, but I think you have Stewart and Busch confused....

As for everyone with the sellout comments, maybe they should look at Chev as the sellout for not showing Gibbs the money... Anyway, who cares? They're a tube chassis with a high strung V8 that resembles nothing off a production line.

I have to agree with bonz on the COTs...both bristol and talledaga were an eyesore to watch last season.. And the BS they let slide for one driver and really stick it to another driver...nascar is playing favorites...i dont agree with it being like WWE but it is pretty political in that aspect. I'm not a fan of the COTs at all

just my .02

Ditto!
If it was true racing, they would allow the best engines to be run, no matter there HP, as long as it meets specs. But nooooo....
COT is a joke. Half of the races ran last year with the COT were as lame as any nascar race can get. It's like watching Daytona every race.....lame!!

This is my opinion and mine only. NASCAR caters to their shining star ie. Hendrick and Chevrolet. I think Toyota will do well this year until NASCAR slows them down when Chevrolet starts whining. NASCAR has done it to Ford and Dodge in the past. Why was it when Chevrolet developed their new motor dubbed the Toyota killer NASCAR allowed it to be run last year? When Dodge came to them 2 years ago with a new motor (the Hemi) NASCAR would not allow it, even though the motor currently run by Dodge is based on the 360 which is no longer in a production vehicle but the Hemi is. I do think what NASCAR is doing to the sport is not good for it. Up until about 2 years ago I would not miss 1 minute of a race. Now I seldom watch an entire race and it really does not bother me if I miss a race completely. I did not even se 1 lap of the Bud shootout and watched 4 cars qualify on Sunday and I am not even excited about the 500 next weekend. If I watch any of it at all it will probably be the last 10 laps.

Chevy's motor messed strictly with flow patterns of intake and exhaust, the dodge placed the spark plug dead center in the head, other wise known as the hemi, the problem with that is that a whole new upper valvetrain must be made, and was seen as an unfair advantage, which it should be. If it was allowed, everyone would be running hemi heads, there more efficient, look at dragracing, NHRA allowed it and both chevy and ford run hemi heads. As for dodges being based on an old motor, so are the chevys and fords, all the new chevy production engines are LS based, the NASCAR blocks are "based" off the old gen I small blocks, same story for the fords. I'm obviously not picking sides. The COT is cool, but not being able to tweak bodies is crap! What ever happened to the days when you could actually change bodies, instead of just chassis adjustments? Oh well, I guess the COT is here to stay!

You are soooo right.

COT is not very spectator friendly such as in Bristol last fall, the Busch race was ran faster and more exciting than the Cup race
