Narrow Front End Conversion

Hello, I was reading that with the conversion from 2007 (or older style) to the new narrow front end removes the radiatior? Is this gona pose a problem for me since I ride trails alot? (granted that I ride in good snow, just dont want to burn up my sled). I want to do this when I do my big bore kit or even this summer but want to know if it is going to hurt my sled's cooling system enough to where the motor is gona run too hot. It currently runs at about 130-145 at max. Thanks in advance for any posts, Brad

Below are pics of the sled

are you talking about the front end plastic? thats all it is. plastic. you probably are thinking about the radiator in the front of your tunnel. i put new style front end on mine too

To change the plastic I thought you had to remove the radiator, i guess I am incorrect. I like how it looks and I like the bumper better. The hood stays the same correct?

If u have a radiator in front of the motor it will need to be removed. In my opinion it would be better to leave it in there for better cooling on trails. To change the plastics the hood remains, all u change is the pivot point. I took the radiator out of my 900 and had nothing but cooling problems running the trail. JMO

It would help if you would have told us what your sled is??? I'm guessing by looking at your pictures that it is a 07 600 144, which means that you do not have a front radiator. You may have a front cooler, but that is located on the front of your tunnel. These early model RAW chassis IQ's used the front plastics from earlier models that had a radiator in the front of the pan, which explains why you have a grill assembly on your front end plastics.

Yeah, lol, sorry. It is a 2007 RMK 600 144. So I don't have a front radiator? I have always been a pull and go kinda guy. Granted I can do my own maitence but didn't know if I had the front rad or not. Is there a place I can buy a kit for the 09 plastics to swap from the 2007 style? I have a kink in the right side (side shown in the pic) but it is very minor but I hate the front bumper on the sled. Thanks for your help

Your polaris dealer sells them but cant remember the part number off hand. If u want a really nice bumper front end setup, check out fastrax. They have a sweet bumper that u can buy with the front end but it is pricey.

The cobe right? That skid plate/bumper looks sick and well built. Any clue how much it is? Is the plastic nose pan all one piece? Pretty easy install?

I have the bumper/skid plate combo....works awesome!!
I also have the carbon fiber skid plate. It gets soft at the transition from the nose to under belly bend, I mounted the sheet metal skid plate over the top of it to help reinforce it.
I have abused the s%#& out of it and its holding up great.
