My XP issues

FYI, there was a service bulletine sent to dealerships early in the season i've been told informing them that the 2008 800R have non adjustable needles and that some motors have been experiance a very common mid-range bog.

Dealers may or may not want to deal with the isssue since the needles are on backorder and may or may not be a BRP update in the future. Even though the needles are on backorder imo you should order them since adjustable needles help to tune specifically the sometimes finkey mid-range of the carberation.

In 2001 when Doo 1st came out with the 800 Summit they shafted everyone by installing solild needles, D-slide carbs and if im not mistaken sealed jets. Everyone in the mountains myself included screamed foul, until SLP had a bunch of udjustable tapered needles custom made that helped cure and clean up the mid range blubber to an otherwise non-tuneable carberator.

Skidoo does some real stupid things sometimes.

OT

skidoo doing dumb things??

Remember the old saying that goes something like

"the British should be the cops"
the Germans the engineers,
the French the cooks, and
the Italians the lovers,

Well, in our case we have the French engineering the DOOOO's instead of cooking.

Something to that effect.

My Xp has gone thru two belts, motor misaligned, clutch adjustment, communication failures, repeatedly, no broken shaft yet. But has 1000 miles on it and I LOVE it, the ride, the power to weight is awsome. Climbs great and goes in the deep powder we had this winter in central Idaho, awesome. I should have waited another year and let them get the bugs worked out but then would have missed all the fun this year. Would do it again. Spud.

maybe the extra venting is making the carbs ice up. Easy to find out by turning your carb heater on.

35-40° no freezing. I have my clickers at #1 and it is still doing it. I told the dealer what it was doing. It is hitting the limiter. He told me to start adding weight to get me through the weekend and I'll take it in on Saturday. All is good with him. As far as the DPM hoses being hooked up backwards, that is not their fault, it is BRP's fault. They are gonna fix the leaky oil cap and the bad gauge too.
