FYI, there was a service bulletine sent to dealerships early in the season i've been told informing them that the 2008 800R have non adjustable needles and that some motors have been experiance a very common mid-range bog.
Dealers may or may not want to deal with the isssue since the needles are on backorder and may or may not be a BRP update in the future. Even though the needles are on backorder imo you should order them since adjustable needles help to tune specifically the sometimes finkey mid-range of the carberation.
In 2001 when Doo 1st came out with the 800 Summit they shafted everyone by installing solild needles, D-slide carbs and if im not mistaken sealed jets. Everyone in the mountains myself included screamed foul, until SLP had a bunch of udjustable tapered needles custom made that helped cure and clean up the mid range blubber to an otherwise non-tuneable carberator.
Skidoo does some real stupid things sometimes.
OT
