My Public Service Announcement

It's a part of life in south dakota. Everyone will see it in there life time. That's just the way it is. not saying your right or wrong Sturgis Sledder, but i won't do it. People need to stop being babies and relize it's part of natures cycle. Just my opinion.

That I know but in all of the hunter safety courses I've taken they always mention it and most game wardens will be more than happy to tell you about the number of letters and calls they get to stop hunting because it's mean to animals. Some people don't and can't understand the need for hunting but why give them ammo?

I understand what you mean. It's just hard for me to see it in their eyes because i am so numb to it. Everyone in my rural area hunts. Alot.

who hasnt seen some idiot who took the head of an animal that he shot road hunting and mounted it on the front bumper of his station wagon.... I dont really care either way but its just plain stupid to display animals if you dont want antihunters fired up. Its kinda like coming up on some cross country skiers on a trail and blasting by them with your PSI modblasters blaring, stupid. When I roll up on cross country skiers I slow way down and keep the volume as low as possible, and then give a polite wave as I go over the top of them, even though I know they hate me and I cant stand them. Its always better to not give them bulletin board material.

Hee Hee, That's better

hmmmm. we are from the land of "sight it-shoot it-show it!" LOL!!!

Having a few deer in the bed of your pickup isn't displaying them, sure a few folks over 5 feet tall might see them when walking by at the gas station but going down the highway no one will see them going by at 120 mph or a semi truck driver might see them in go by in the passing lane.

This is a stupid thread, see my sig :D

I live in redneckville, and have yet to see a deer head on a station wagon...seen a few in the trunk though, some that wouldn't fit and had legs hanging out lol but never on the hood as you describe.

They were tied down on top of all of their crap they were hauling with 2 of them above the level of the cab and most of them were does.

I agree with Sturgis. I am an avid hunter and I'm very proud of every bull that I have arrowed. But I always cover my truck bed to avoid wandering eyes.

"Don't feed the trolls!"

Well a tarp over the whole works wouldn't have been a bad idea then, I figured they were laying in the bottom of the bed not strapped to the side of a load.

If nothing else I'd tarp em to keep the wardens from pulling me over to check for transport tags.

Were all becoming a buch of puzzies. What happened to the good ole days when they would do public hangings in the town square for everyone to see. Now were whining about a dead deer or elk in the back of a pickup. Man, the world is going to chit.:(

You know, I understand trying to cover up your kill in the back of the truck and what not. It's this trying to please everyone thing that's just not possible.

we also had a guy in choteau who had shot a nice cat and put it on his tool box after he had shot it and it was about -30 so it froze in the position he put it in so it looked back like it was jsut chillin and lookin around. he left it there for a couple days lol. looked like he had a pet mtn. lion

who knows how to get this from a link to a big pic???

I will tell you I don't care what other people think. If hunters see me go through town with a deer or elk, they will wave. As for the others, huh? I think we need to stop caring about people who don't like hunting or fishing.
