My lifetime total ailments due to sledding.........

Thread Rating
5.00 star(s)
Broken tibia thanks to a lefty throttle failure, no more of those.

23 stitches in the left fore arm, who would have thought a brake lever could go that far in!

One very expensive wedding band had to be cut off, jammed my finger cleaning snow out of my suspension and the finger swelled before I could get my glove and ring off.

Currently 4 weeks post shoulder surgery thanks to one EXTREMLY sudden and unforeseen stop that bent my bars and put the top of my head on my hood. Would have been much worse had I not had my vest on. While I am certain shoulder surgery is no where near as bad as back surgery, it still SUCKS!

MAN I CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT SEASON!!!!

hit a tree and got slammed into my risers punctured my lung which sent air into my mediastinum end up with Subacute Emphysema (air in my neck muscle) oh and I got a chest protector lol after it happened.

all and all i ended up ok lol and I am still riding

KNOCK ON WOOD, but i've been lucky so far... no injuries from snowmobiling.. just a couple scars and bruises after 17 years..... dirt bikes, now thats a different story, dislocated both elbows, both shoulders, my jaw... knocked out 3 teeth, had to have a skin graph on my arm and a few broken fingers. call me a p*ssy but i dont ride dirt bikes any more. just sleds and jet skis now

I have been sledding for 30 years with way two many injuries to list.
Here are some that I remember.
Shattered my arm into 23 pieces of bone.
Broken femur in two places
Torn ligaments in my right hand (all 11 so they said)
Separated shoulder
Cracked vertebrae Lt 1 and Lt 2
Torn acl
Numerous broken and cracked ribs (pre riding vest) none since I bought a B wear vest.

oh,and the time i landed a 300 foot cliff drop.knocked the wind out of me and i had to pull the seat out of my crack.

Now that you guys mentioned it, there's more..........

Last year I dislocated my darn shoulder. and bent my A-arm, oh yeah, that's on the Cat...Well it's not too good either.
As well as several didgits frozen at IP. Below zero is tough for the high.
As far as the bisept , I still have one of the pair. It looks like a Pop-eye mussel.

22 years of aches , pains , concussions and all that have faded away. I hit a tree hole once at 35 or so and I was really black and blue from my ankles to my arm pits. The only thing still with me is a torn miniscus in my right knee that came from a little incident carrying my ice auger in my lap from one place on the lake to another. I don't even limp too bad any more.

typical stuff, ribs, sternum, thumb, ankle, crushed toe (04 rev footwell). The real damage is the abuse on my diesel excursion, tranny, turbo, HPOP, brakes ect, not to mention the strain on coworkers and wife...LOL...

go cry somwhere else

what...did you pull your uterus too? go cry somwhere else:eek::beer; You must think this is a self help forum

I couldn't even begin to list them all....... but the most memorable incident
-25 stitches
-17 staples
-compression fracture in my c3 and c4 vertebrae in my neck. Yup, broken neck.

Sledding again 3 weeks later, priceless.... haha
If your gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough!

Good grief, I've never realy realized just how many of my problems are due to sledding. As I get close to 60 years old, NOW I get it.

Several skars. one on my knee from 1964 model 100 Cat.
Broken and damaged disks in back from cornace drops. 1-M 800
Broken and mended ribs, collar bone, feet. One is from a John Deere JDX-8
Ripped and gone bisept, still have one, Who needs both?
Blood clot in right leg from ankle injury a year and a half ago. King Cat 1000

If it wern't for sledding, .........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................I'd get bored!

Owen..you forgot about your vision...near sighted, from hoping to stay NEAR all the ski-doos...LOL-BJ

1 broken leg when I was 11 or 12, riding a sled being pulled by a snowmobile
1 bruised ribs last year by seeing how far I can bend my mountain strap with my chest.. answer is pretty darn far
1 rotten right shoulder by pulling on it too hard and not using my little muscles..

I have many more injuries from riding MX bikes... but I sold it...

Wow, lots of back injuries from guys doing drops. Kind of why I try and stay away from them... I like my back the way it is, thank you very much..

BJ.........I just don't have eyes in the back of my head.

The only reason I would care is because I need you to start my machine. And that's only because I can't let it idle till you catch up.
