Good grief, I've never realy realized just how many of my problems are due to sledding. As I get close to 60 years old, NOW I get it.

Several skars. one on my knee from 1964 model 100 Cat.
Broken and damaged disks in back from cornace drops. 1-M 800
Broken and mended ribs, collar bone, feet. One is from a John Deere JDX-8
Ripped and gone bisept, still have one, Who needs both?
Blood clot in right leg from ankle injury a year and a half ago. King Cat 1000

If it wern't for sledding, .........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................I'd get bored!

broken foot
some major soft tissue damage around my spine and ribs (tenderlion is what i call it when i'am cutting up a deer) due to a head on crash (avitar)
alot of good times that couldn't be matched in any other sport

broken ribs X2, seperated once....guess I should invest in a tech vest eh!? ;)
knocked out and got a concussion
2 broken thumbs
seperated shoulder and torn labrum and bankhart from it
scars...chit...I don't keep track of those

I can handle most chit....but damaged discs scare the hell out of me...one reason I stopped dropping off cornices. Right Boondock. ;) How ya healing bro?

high time you are an old warrior....:beer;:beer;:beer; and respect for ya!

I agree, the worst i have done thus far is bashing my elbow when i tipped my sled a littttle too far into a biga$$ rock and i got knocked off my sled at 35mph

oh, and i ripped a muscle in my shoulder trying to help my paps n his friend load a sled into his truck(yeah, i was 14, but was required to try and lift a side of the front. I was called a pu$$y cuz i told um it was too heavy)

42 Years old
5 Seasons of riding

2 broken ribs (Pre TekVest) 05'
broken bone in left hand 06'
2 separated ribs (different ones, post TekVest) 08'
dislocated and horribly sprained left ankle this year 09'
Compressed L4 and L5 in back, 08'

They all sucked, the ankle has not healed right, but could of dealt with everything until the back injury. That one has definitely changed my life for the worse. Can't catch air, on purpose or not, and trails are slow going. Gotta pick and choose how I do things and what I do very carefully.
But I have learned a lot, and can't quit for a while yet. :beer;

Nothing major yet. I know if it weren't for helmet, tekvest and knee protection i'd have a lot more stories to tell. And a lot less miles on the sled.

Body armor's good stuff. Surprises me how many people haven't figured that out yet.

2003

Left knee:

Torn ACL, MCL, PTCL, Minicus. Knee cap cracked into 4 pieces.

2004

Concussion, 2 seperated ribs, Super sprained wrist

2006

Right knee:

stretched Miniscus.
Super rolled ankle, scrapes and bruises from rolling a sled down a hill and into a tree.

I like to think I have been lucky so far, hasnt really slowed me down too much, the old left knee really hurts in the morning though. I think its time to get it scoped again.

sledding related not much

possible concusion from breaking 3/8" of crusted/iced snow with my head...kinda tweaked my neck too.

Other then that only some frostbite on my left hand from changing a belt when it was 10 or so below. And maybe a bit on some finger tips from helping some guys out who couldn't start a sled. Same time I got damn electricuted...told one guy to pull over the sled(a 340 indy) while I ground the plug to check for spark...well the guys dumb aced friend went and reefed on the F'ing e-start when I wasn't watching. Yep that hurt.

yep that sledding hurts....deflated bank account...maxed pressure credit cards...crushed pruchase power...inflamed wife...decrepid autos....yep sledding hurts like heck...!!!

sprained thumb taking a western move back east. did a drop, off of a river bank! doh!

bit the tip of my tongue off back in 97

nothing too serious

not sledding, atv's. broken femur, dislocated hip, broke acl, torn pcl, and dislocated shoulder.

BIG AZZ mermagrin!!! All the other stuff seems to melt away when I think of all the fun this sport brings.....my adrenaline producing thingy is overworked, but it keeps producing every ride and memory, so it must not be too bad. My wallet has a big scar from tearing at the money to pay for parts and video's and new sleds and my debit card is going to rehab this summer from all the gas purchase abuse!! Kids are cashing in all the beer cans from the rides to pay for college...sure am glad I saved them up for that.....the addiction is hereditary...my boys have built jumps for the 120 the last 2 years....I warn them about getting a job to help with the injuries listed above...but being immature and iresponsible is also hereditary.....:beer;:beer;:D

As for the bruises, they have fadded, the scars are fogotten and the limp is caused by working too much.....
