My carbon kitty

So I decided this year to step my game up a bit and go into a full carbon M8 courtesy of the guys @ WKM in Lloydminster (C3 carbon tunnel, tank and hood, custom cold air setup, C3 post forward kit), this is the first sled I have bought from them and I dealt specifically with Kerry, if you need anything to do with a mod cat he is the guy to deal with, from turbo's to full carbon rides he can do it all!!! Anyways, here are a few pics of my sled, it will be in edm at the sled show, feel free to pop by and take a look at it and talk to Kerry, he will be down working the booth all weekend!!!

weight?

How much did all of that cost? You could have just bought a 2013 Pro and had the same weight....

I guess it does have a cool factor! Just seems like alot of money....

Sure, but the carbon is going to be stronger, I still have more HP than the pro...and like you said the cool factor :face-icon-small-coo Its only money right? :hat:

As for the pro, I'm not interested in polaris...especially with a first year belt drive...I like to ride my sled not wait in line for warranty claims (not trying to start a flame war, just an opinion...I hope for the sake of everyone buying one its a great sled)

That is a cool sled. You can't beat light for the trees. WKM did a great write up on his 3 sleds he built and rode last year. All Cats. Turbo 2 stroke cat, Turbo 1100T and that sweet carbon 2 stroke you bought. Hands down he said the carbon was the most fun and least trouble. Got me thinking...

I rode all the sleds EXCEPT the carbon one, go figure thats the one I decide to build haha! Should be a lot of fun, im pretty excited to add some new green "accents" to the sled!

Edit: 100% complete now!!!

thats a badass sled man. just cant believe it is still that heavy.

i agree...i love the work these guys do...the best quality anywhere from what i read and see..

but willikers my sled is around 400 lbs and no carbon parts...so the PC is still a pig with all carbon imo..

Yes, nice sled for sure! But if you did the same amount of work / $ to the Polaris Pro you can have a 400# Wet RTR and with the right / equivalent engine mods can still get the same HP out of it.

To each their own, no disrespect intended. Just one guys opinion.

In some ways yes, in some ways no. There are MANY compromises to using CFRP's. Two important things that affect the general strength of CFRP's are the resin system and the cure method used to manufacture them. These will dictate longevity/survival in a harsh, alpine environment.
These guys selling CFRP sled parts would like the general public to believe that carbon is the best thing since sliced bread, :face-icon-small-disbut I know better.

Real good looking sled. I like the tunnel design. :face-icon-small-hap

Those running boards are unique! Good looking sled, just looks like a lot money went in to it! Good luck with it!

You facking people amaze me.. This guy has a sled that 90% of you can only dream of yet you bash it!!! Take your cookie cutter *** OEM junk and have fun. SOME will continue to rock the stuff that not everyone in the snow park has.. Nobody cares what your PRO weighs or does.. THERE ARE 5 MORE IN THE AREA THAT LOOK THE DAMN SAME!!! To the OP.. Im not a 2 stroke guy, but I can 100% appreciate someone who puts up the balls to build/buy/own something that not every person is gonna have! Ride that thing like ya stole it!!

Post of the year! Thanks man!!

This should bean easy 400 if a few other things like can and oil delete are done. The PC is 472 dry stock. Pipe insulation, can and oil delete are 29, plus carbon hood and tank another 27 or so. Thats down to 416 or so w/o cf tunnel, and at least several lbs of misc. stuff I have done.

And still 15 more reliable ponies than a Poo - and its not another cookie cutter.
