muffpot?

4 hd stainless no leak rivits to the top of the stock can...super easy access and about 5 min job..really solid as well.

My design sux! The food never warmed enough. Two critical flaws I think:
steel doesn't transfer the heat anywhere near as effectively as the aluminum, and not enough surface area contact.
Also tried it with a piece of 2" steel tube. More surface area, but still didn't transfer heat enough.
Bummer. :tsk:

As i stated earlier cut a piece of 1/4 inch plate 1 inch wide by about 3 inches wide and put underneath cooker and mount directly to pipe where it dumps into can and works great. You have surface contact with no air in between cooker and can. I will get a picture tomorrow if i can and post it.

I've been happy with woodsrider design, only I used steel, didn't have aluminum. I put two hotpockets in it when I leave the truck and by noon, they are hot enough to burn your mouth. They are thawed, overnight though. Thanks again woodsrider!!!

Mount and shield for muffpot or hot spot are 20.00 includes shipping to anywhere in the US. PM if you want one. PS I take Pay Pal.

what do you guys use to keep grease from going around or anything else you are cooking? does just aluminum foil keep stuff clean?

I was looking at a pro this weekend what about sticking the muffpot where the outlet of the pipe is by the silencer looks like a great spot for it. Or do they just not work well out by the silencer. I don't know much about the cooker placement. Just a thought.

G

I mounted mine in that exact spot.had to cut out a piece of aluminum at end of pipe and some of the insulation about 2 inches squared..slipped one end under the aluminum and put the clamp on and wowsers it fits and works great. Takes a little longer top cook there instead of at the y pipe but still a hot meal...

don't know if it's going to be hot enough, just needs to cook a few hotdogs.

muff test

Finally got out and did a little cookin! Been on three all day rides and muff is still tight . I did put a little dab of high temp silicon between it and the pipe and can when I put it on which looks to be taking all of the vibration in stride. Cooks from frozen to done in three hours. Just a little water to make steam seems to help in there and I like the oven bags,I cut them in half and can still get them zip tied

Shield

Ordered the shield from WoodsRider and gave it a try Saturday, works great, food was twice as hot, had frozen hot wings, 3 hrs later all most to hot to eat without letting cool down first.
Thanks WoodsRider.

Thank you for the report! I have found that it will brown the bottom of a burrito in a couple of hours without burning.

Here is a pic of my muffpot mounted on top of my BMP Powderlite can. I had done the Woodsrider spacer earlier with my stock can and I would say they take about the same amount of time to cook with it mounted right to the can. Both take about two hours of hard riding.

hot dogger

I was riding with Chris Burandt and he uses a "hotdogger" cooker wedged between the can and plastic at the front of the can with no bracket. I tried with hotpockets and it worked great!

It does not work on a turbo application! :face-icon-small-fro
