Mt Baker riders/locals, need a favor

I have only pulled a sled out of my back yard, never been in the mountains.

Hey H20SKE, I wasn't saying you don't know how to pull a sled out, I am shure you have pulled your share of sleds out of the mountains. If all the Ideas are not up to your standards to get a sled out of big mount baker I am sorry. Like I said never been to any big areas before, just ride circles around my house.:rolleyes:No disrespect was intended Paul.

Ah don't worry about it... A day of riding with Paul is a day of pulling his sled out of multiple stucks....

Paul, how much per hour of flight time is he charging you? Mine was 2k per hour of engine time. 900 bucks from Blackcomb Helicopter tours to pick me and the sled up on the ice cap.

It wierd to sit here knowing your precious is up on the mountain all alone. I have visions of varmits tearing up the seat and using the foam for nesting and it reeking of elk piss.....oh wait, that's my helmet that smells like that.

I think it will be ok paul. There is 16 inches a new and probably more on the way should be burried by tomorrow. Critters wont beable to find it, hopefully the bars will stil be sticking up so you can find it. When you going back? I might need to go back anyway. :face-icon-small-coo

Hey guys,
Thats cool H2, My sled is a pile of crap and it would drive me insane to leave it anywhere. if its up there on April 5TH & 6th be more than happy to help out. From what I here you might need some guys to do some digging to find it.

It will be okay Winterbrew;) Mine sat there for a week last winter and mine was out in the open in the horse corral--Yours is at least in the trees and now it is camoflouged from all.
My experiance is most sledders will not see it if it is not right in front of them. Just hope no one tries to use it as a jump:eek:.

And as before--You can count on me and TreeTard to help you get it out if needed--we did it last year with mine!!

Snowbunjie makes tow staps for dead sleds that I have used before. They are easy to attach to the dead sled as well as tow sled. You end up sinching the dead sled up against the snow flap of the tow sled - dead sled's skis are on either side of track of tow sled - and you can tow out without having a rider on the dead sled. The straps keep the dead sled off the *** end of the tow sled. It works great.

Last year I towed a RMK 800 out with a RMK 600 in about 4' of powder. I had to tow about 5 miles. It worked like a dream.

Thanks guys.
Does anyone know a good method of towing a sled without a rider to steer?
And yes.....it was a Ski-Doo...'07 Rev.

When you get to a place where it becomes towable....Tie one of the ski loops to your rear bumper..basically "lash" it to the bumper..it will follow the tow sled like nothing...you can basically fly down any trail that way...no need for a rider on brakes that gets blasted with snow for an hour either...the only way to tow! Word is that Baker got another 17 in. Sunday night with a lot of wind...Good Luck......I had to use what is called a "chainsaw winch" once..not sure where you can borrow or rent one but they exist. http://www.medfordwinch.com/winch.jpg

Thought today might be a "go" with the heli, but the pilot can see Baker from his house and said it is still socked in above 4,000, not enough window to go in today.
We tried towing several ways, the "giving birth" track on tunnel worked the best, we also tried ski tight to the rear bumper, up close to the tow sled(s) and farther from the tow sled. Just not enough traction right now, was even having a hard time on level ground.
If anyone is up there and feels frisky or wants to earn some $$, I will offer up $300 to get it at the snopark. If no weather break by Saturday I will likely be up there with some buddies and block/tackle maybe a chainsaw winch....whatever it takes. :beer;

I'll be up there this weekend with about 8 guys if you need a hand, We'll be there Sat afternoon thru Mon evening. I'll be in the motorhome (tan Ford) come on by if you need any help.

dont forget to pray before you board the Heli,

please god let my check book handle load and let this Heli lift this tub of sh!t!!!!!
