Moving to Utah -- Where to Ride

Bee PM Rockstar on here he is a stud and that is his market great guy to work with.

Get ahold of Wellers Rec. in Kamas Utah they are "THE" Ski Doo dealer. Great guys to work with also. When I bought my Quad I drove 60 miles and passed up half a dozen dealers to get to them. IMHO they are the best. Around.

Timberlakes is plowed year round... but it takes a while. Its not really all that expensive 70k for a lot plus building expenses. But its more cabin like.

Gary Coleman is a friend of mine and a real estate agent in Midway/Heber. He is honest and good.

If your going to be commuting to slc, I would pick Heber or Midway.
As always check classifieds first for sell by owner stuff too.. resources here
www.ksl.com
saltlakecity.craigslist.org
www.forsalebyowner.com
or MLS
at www.utahrealestate.com

And if you want to pm your price range I look in the newspaper (The Wasatch Wave) for you.

P.S. My uncle rides a 00 700 rmk with a 136 track, and it goes where he wants it to go. I ride 151 track and I get it stuck all day.

Thanks guys for the references. I will be contacting the agents soon. I agree that we don't really need to add another 20 minutes to the commute, my wife says she doesn't mind, but that can get old quick.

Thanks again for the agents contact information. I love this forum already.

BeeDoo,
If interested I am looking to sell my 2006 Summit 800 with a 144 track. This sled has gotten me everywhere I wanted to go without getting stuck and is easy to throw around. I'm selling this sled because I'm moving out of state this summer and have too many toys to move with me.

Eric,

Thanks for the info. I will certainly be checking things out and will probaly get in touch with Mr. Coleman when we figure out what area is best for us.

Here's another questions. WIll my 136 Renegade do alright out there, or do I need to upgrade to a Summit with a 2" paddle??

id say a 151 or longer, and 2.25 lug or higher.......bigger is better, just ask all the ladies that get to see my jack shaft

bigger the better?

I am on the lookout. It's funny. In Michigan, you can't find anything longer than a Summit. and I can count on one hand the number of lugs I've seen over 1.5 inches

I still remember back in 1998 my local dealer (Andersons in Michigan) told me they couldn't sell me a Summit because it's not for the flatland. With the snow drags we use to have, a 136-144" with a 2" lug worked great. Zx chaincase in the CK3. Now I have a 156" with out a sway bar and it turns a bit different from my short track sleds :D

Well I'm sure I will miss the 121 sometimes. So easy to just swing that back end around every corner and then gun it coming out... Granted, I'm sure I'll forget all that when I'm riding in 4 feet of pow pow in the mountains.

Moving to Utah

If you are going with a newer summit, get a 144 or a 146, that will be plenty of track and an easier adjustment from a short track

I agree with Dan, remember the Ski-Doo Rev and Rev XP are 16 wide and give lots of float.

An 08 XP is the sled I'd love to get. If not that, it will probably be an 07 summit with the 800R engine.

So you think 144 is enough track?

ive ridden the 144 the past 2 years, and have the xp with the 146 this year... its plenty of track...
my polaris has the 155... i wanted a 144 on it, but with the turbo i should have gone with the 163...

I thought I would pile on this thread....

I am coming out from Northern California to ride Mirror Lake and area. Towin sleds! I am staying in Timber Lakes at rental house.

My question is: where is the closest place to get fuel? Do I have to load the sleds up and drive into Heber?

Any help would be great

if your at timber lakes you will be riding the strawberry / tower mtn area. Mirror lake is quite a ways north and you would be better off driving to the parking area, then riding across wolf creek and soapstone, unless your going to pack like 10 gallons of fuel on the sled... FYI

your only 7 miles from heber at timber lakes so yes that would be the closest place to get fuel. If your looking to stay up at the cabin, just get a few 5 gallon jugs and bring them up with you. fill them up the jugs if you go to town for dinner or something...
