Mountain mod snoscoot

MahaMan- That would be great! They are few and far between here in Ohio. Friend of mine had one but sold it before asking me if I was interested for my son a few years ago. Bummer. Let me know the number if you get it or its still there. Thanks

Dragon68 - I will get up to Little Falls in the next 2 or 3 weekends and will get the number and get back to you.

Snowturbo, you can actually go into any Yamaha dealer and order a track. Originals were made by Yokohama, but Camoplast made a run of them (exact same design as original) at Yamahas request a couple years ago, so if you buy a brand new one, make sure it is Camo and not a 20 year old Yoko. They will run you about $500.

No worries about the skis, just let me know when you are ready.

I have a totally bone stock machine that I am using for testing/weight comparisons and validations, so no stock track avail. Sorry!

Hey you guys, just so you know I am not dragging this out on purpose, we have been sidetracked a bit with a small detour. Our little boy Luke, who is just 3.5 months old is a little sick. He has had issues since birth which I won't go into, but nothing like this. He should be okay, but lets just say he has a bit of an ungroomed, unruly trail ahead of him.... Turns out he has a very nasty case of RSV. Needless to say, we have spent countless hours bedside and consulting and meeting with his care team. Say a prayer, go out and fire up your sled or raise a cold Moose Drool or a good glass of Pinot for him... he needs it. Thanks:)

Oh and don't worry, you'll still get sneak peaks as we go. Cuttin more parts tomorrow and Sunday!:face-icon-small-win

Breaks my heart to see your kid like that. My son was hooked up to a lot of that crap right after he was born and I know how hard it is to sit there and feel like you cant do anything to help him. My prayers go out to you I hope he pulls through ok RSV is a scary deal.

Thanks all you guys...we're sitting next to him now and he is improving a bunch.

OKay, okay, I'll give a little up to you guys but only because it's Valentines Day and I'm feelin the love from you all:D

New bulkhead parts are being cut today and tomorrow and will be tig welded together next week.

Frame strengthening and rewelds (required for new -found power coupled with new suspension...front and rear!) is also being done over the next few days....

Here's a good one: one of the major complaints about stock Scoots is the ground clearance...so we've improved ground clearance by a modest amount.....about 6"

New headlamps billet mounting plates should be done tonight (no we are NOT re-using that stock headlight (flashlight weak and outweighs a t-rex).

Cannot find a straight stock Scoot steering post anywhere (have purchased two off of ebay and they, along with the two I have on hand, are bent in at least two places. So we are looking at making chromoly replacements...anyone esle want one? the stocker weighs about 60lbs. Just kidding, but that sucker is heavy and obviously too bendable.

How's that for today?

I am building a mod sled for my kid with a 427 cc banshee motor and a snowhawk 121 track. 100 horsepower and 250 pounds dry. Bullhead moto has some great ideas. Looking for ideas, any suggestions? I want to get this thing done.
Looks like it gona be a nice sled for the kid.
But I wouldnt have put the engine so much forward like it is in this pic. That will give the sled bad handling.

Motor is almost touching steering post ,so cant move it back. In case youve never seen a scoot frame there isnt much room up there. Sounds like i am going to have to start a list of parts i need from BHM. AWESOME Hope the kid gets well soon. Where all thinking about you guys.
