MotoTrax Q&A

Mountain Track

Last year your kits came with the 2.5" maxtrak. I know there was some complaining about this tracks performance in hard snow conditions. It was a fantastic track in powder snow conditions however. Why did you decide to go backwards to a 2" track, instead of equipping your kits with the stiffer 2.5" maxtrak II? Wouldn't this have been the best of both worlds? No loss of deep snow traction, more hard snow penetration, no weight gain.

The maxtrack II came out at the end of the season last year and we didn't get a chance to put any miles on one to test its performance. We put over 80 hrs on the 2" challenger, in almost every condition you can imagine, and we were impressed with its performance. So, we decided to offer a track that was tried and true versus a track that's said to be better.

That being said, we will have the 2.5" maxtrack II on one of our test kits this winter. If it preforms like it's said to it will likely be an option on next years kits and an available accessory.

What was your take on the convex 2.5 with your kit.

Honestly, it's not necessary with our kit. The convex track is used with other kits to help give more of a "tire" feel on the trails and hard packed snow. We accomplish that through our fully pivoting skid.

Yes the fit kit is just spacers. We should be able to fit our kit to any full sized bike that's left hand drive and has a dirtbike style swing arm. I am away from the office for a trade show but as soon as I'm back I will get you some pics of a fit kit!

Can you please post pics of the fit kit? I received word that my full size left hand drive dirt bike is not eligible for a fit kit. Stupid me for buying a bike that's weirder than weird.

I get what you guys are saying and understand after riding one that there is no advantage to having a curved track on your kit but why not test a full 2.5" paddled track this year?

Here are some pictures of the fit kit components. What bike do you have? Because as long as it has a dirt bike style swing arm, left hand drive and full size frame we should be able to fit it!

We will be testing out a few different options in the 2.5" track this year. We've had a lot of requests for that size lug, so we'll test until we find one that meets our quality standards and the needs of our customers!

So did snowchecked kits ship last week as promised? You guys missed the "guaranteed" Sept 1st snowchecked day by a mile, but I didn't get any email last week that my kit went out. It's making those of us that shelled out close to $5k very nervous about our riding this winter. Getting the kits to our doors while the snow is already falling doesn't give us much chance to get our conversions made and settings dialed in. They are already riding in whistler. Baker not too far behind. In my industry, the day we miss a deadline is the day we communicate with the customer.

Ya, I'm getting a tad nervous as well. but I understand waiting on other manufacturers promises and have been very impressed with the level of communication so far. Its when this thread goes quiet that i'll poop my pants.

Well, no responses from MotoTrax here or in my email today. Has anyone received a notice of shipment from Mototrax? Any dealers have their inventory yet? I'm not trying to get out the pitchforks here, but I get concerned when a company so good at communicating and promoting gets quiet when the turbulence hits.

I just messaged them on their website.... They were at the snowshow last weekend..

You guys do realize that these are shipping by freight carriers not the little brown truck!
