MOTORFIST STOMPER BOOT

I bought a pair at the Puyallup snow show. The fit for me was pretty true to size, i wear an 11 and i bought the 11 boot. I like the fit and finish. Not to mention the replaceable sole. They come with an half size insert and i could see that coming in handy after the boot packed out. First and foremost for me was how well the laces held tension even without being tied yet. I felt i could work all day in them and wouldn't know i was wearing a snowmobile specific boot! Cant wait to put them to use!:first:

These boots only have a one year warranty on "waterproofness"...doesn't that make being able to replace the soles kinda pointless?

When do 'Fist Stompers start shipping?

Our local Polaris dealer has had them for awhile. I didn't want to buy Klims on the internet. No local showrooms. I'm pretty picky about footwear and knew I have to try them on first. So thats mostly why I went with Motorfist. That and the salesmanship of our dealer guys. They really knew their stuff.

For those with Klim boot experience; How's the sizing on these compared to the Klim boots? For example does a size 11 Klim = 'Fist size 11? The Stompers aren't sold locally... Thanks

No Klim experience here, but we bought 1 size larger (his&hers) than our normal shoe/boot size. Hopefully be a great multi purpose boot. Been wearing them as house slippers for a couple weeks now. :face-icon-small-ton

Tried them on at the Puyallup snow show. I really like them. They look short but I put them next to a pair of Klim's and they are only about a 1/2" shorter in the back. Really comfortable. There is an air chamber or some kind of shock absorber in the heal that really works. Like the way they lace up, the laces hold the tension while you tie them. Really like the replaceable sole. I wear size 13 and the 13s fit me perfect. Gonna buy a pair at the Open house at Clem's in Enumclaw. BTW, I talked to a guy from Motorfist about the boots and the Rekon jacket. Super knowledgeable guy, really knew the product. Gonna get a Rekon jacket too.

I picked up a pair at the Edmonton show, I have been in the Klim adrenalines for the last couple of years. My only concern is if they will be as warm as the Klims, they are definantly more comfortable. I have been hiking with them the last couple of days, never would have done that in the Klims.

I got a chance to compare this boot to the Klim Adrenaline boot at the SLC show last weekend. One of the Klim dealers had a half cut of both these boots. Once you see what going on in the inside you'll never buy the Stomper boot.

We also got an education on eVent vs Gore-Tex and why Klim stopped building gear out of eVent. There is a lot of deceptive information out there on breathability vs air permability. The Gore-Tex guys helped us understand that the test MF does that is suppose to show how breathable eVent is really proves eVent is not wind proof, but has nothing to do with how breathable it is when it comes to moisture vapor transfer. I don't understand why people can't just be honest about this stuff. If you can't compete you can't compete but don't lie about it and try to deceive the consumer just to make a buck. I was totally buying the breathability story and it turns out it's a bunch of crap.

Im starting to see a pattern here...from 09
'm starting to see some kind of connection between Motor Fist and Klim.

Motor Fist's website says it's located in Idaho Falls. There seems to be a tie between Motor Fist and Rexburg Motor Sports which is obviously in Rexburg. Klim is from Rigby which is right in between them both.

Obviously Motor Fist can not compete with Klim and Gore-Tex. I have done the research and Gore is light years ahead of any of the other waterproof membranes on the market. I would go so far as to say it's actually in a class of it's own with about 3 or 4 other clone companies like eVent trying to catch up.

What I'm wondering is if Motor Fist is a sister company to Klim trying to get the market shares of the guys who can't afford to buy Klim. I can't see anyone being dumb enough to think they could compete with Klim without using Gore. That certainly makes no sense, especially after the Tobe thing. There is a huge market for guys who can't afford Klim and nobody would know that more than Klim. They already own the high end market and will most likely keep it as long as they are married to Gore. I doubt Gore would think to kindly of them making less expensive gear out of a clone membrane under the Klim name, so why not start a new company under a different name and grab the mid-line market? The Motor Fist gear was obviously copied from Klim. The warranty from Motor Fist really isn't anything special or different than Klim's warranty. Mostly it's smoke and mirrors. Only difference is with Motor Fist they will keep fixing your stuff rather it keeps you dry or not, something that I'm sure Gore won't allow Klim to do because of Gore's "guaranteed to keep you dry" marketing slogan and reputation.

Not that it matters one way or the other, I just find it coincidental???
Reply With Quote You have stated that you dont "work" for klim but, are just close "friend" of the owner...does he pay in cash or check??LOL

Can you please elaborate as to "what's going on in the inside of the...Stomper boot". Please share the intel.

How is this for a quote. I know the owner of Klim because I work for him and he does pay me in gas for my sled. This is John from Klim and I would like to respond to this post if people think it will be useful and that i do not get accused of hijacking the thread. In the end I just want to be helpful. let me know.

Our Klim Rep informed us the owner of Rexburg Motorsports and Klim were part of Klim together at one point. The Owner of Klim bought the owner of Rexburg out and they parted way. Motorfist is a seperate company owned by the owner of Rexburg Motorsports. Klim and Motorfist are not associated at all.

The story is way more detailed than that but you get the picture adn understand why they seem so similar.

boots

I also saw the cut away of both boots. The one thing they pointed out that I remembered was that the stomper boot had the insulation on the outside of the waterproof material where the adrenaline had the insulation on the inside of the waterproof material. Also the card that came with the boot said something about treating the outside of the boot with waterproof materials like nixwax often. It said something about moisture in the insulation will degrade the performance.

There are some innovative ideas coming out of South east Idaho for sure.

The financial backer for Rexburg Motor Sports and Motorfist is the same man. he has done many wonderful things for the snowmobile industry and is a good guy. Those that know him appreciate his hard work and sense of humor.
He has no current affiliation with Klim. Nor does Klim have any affiliation with Motorfist.

Yea but WHO is Phatty really? So we can conclude that the snowmobile aftermarket is so HUGE and GARGANTUAN that KLIM wants to be a player in both mid and high end? Is that what you are saying? Why don't they shoot for the trifecta and OWN FXR as well! I heard that KLIM actually owned Polaris and was responsible for those SHI^^Y IQ RAW AND PRO running boards so that they could rule the world by selling so many boots to all of the snowmobilers. But also there is a silent partner with the initials K. Z. that is also involved in the conspiracy. He also goes by PUMPKIN HEAD after Puyallup! ahhhhhhhhhhh

I've used Klim gear for years and it's great gear, however, for some to post on here that eVent is not even in the same league as Goretex is misleading and wrong. Two seasons ago I bought Polaris bibs and jacket with eVent for an awesome price. Still kept all my Klim gear just in case I didn't like the eVent. After two full seasons of using eVent (with the same base layers as with Klim), I can say the eVent is just as breathable as Goretex, if not more so. I am always as dry and warm at the end of the day as when the day started. I have absolutely no complaints with eVent. Both companies (Klim & Motorfist) are providing gear made with industry-leading breathable/waterproof fabrics and, IMHO, either one will be a good choice. After my experience with eVent, I decided to try the Stomper boots this year. I'm sure I'll be happy with them. There are numerous reviews online comparing Goretex and eVent. Some reviews give the edge to eVent and some give it to Goretex. Either are great. Buy what you like. Personally, I can use either with complete confidence.
