mod motors in rev chasis

the ones that most will find you is carbondaddy's but that thing is all carbon fiber, and turboed.... so yeah, not exactly just a swap persay. the 900 cat motors fit half decent i guess, i almost bought one that a guy had in a rev, heck, throw a bigbore at that thing and really enjoy it!!!

just caught that, haha

Someone should build a huge cylinder reed twin. Say about 200hp on pump gas with a single...

His name is Russ Lemke it is a 996 twin with a single pipe. Had one and they are incredible. Mine was in a 2001 zx but a friend has the new 996 with different porting and pipe in a modded long tracked mxz. 200 plus horse and a mountain killing amount of torque. Thing is a monster and beats alot of bigger horse machines. Also probably the most reliable mod motor out of any of them. Pull rope and ride every time.

Been looking into this some more.

Most big motors are fit into the chassis by raising the whole motor straight up so that the carbs will clear. To me thats not an option, as the whole point of the REV is to get something that doesnt handle like an applecart. You can run a longer belt to make some room, but again you are doing this at the expense of handling.

For me its gotta be just as low as the stock engine. If you go case reed you need some sort of long intake runners to get the carbs setup and maybe lean it forward. but leaning it also throws off the handling.

Then you have cyl reed which solves your height problem, but as everyone knows cyl reeds will just not make the power of a decent case reed setup.

I think AC figured this out quite awhile ago and flipped the intake to the other side.

Thinking long and hard about a big case reed twin plus some sort of fuel injection to get around the carbs. Could build a nice plenum with a big throttlebody and 2 runners down to the reeds. Shouldnt have sold my motec...

Port; My 999 sits MAYBE a 1/2" higher in the chassis than the 440 Rotax did, bottom of case to bottom of case. The Cat upright twins are just a tall engine.

It's for sale if anyone is interested. Looking for a new project.

I agree with Beels my Rev with the crankshop motor was not much higher then stock. That sled was actually one of the best handling sled's I have ever owned.

Interesting. Never seen a 900 cat based eng transplant in person.

Just seen some big triples and other case reed/rotary stuff.

950 Crankshop

There will be a year old XP on the snow starting this weekend that will have some of the fabled jaws twins on it that will have most people saying wtf. The crancshop 950 with the twins will keep just about anyone happy. Pretty sure that ralph will know some specifics on the motor.
