mod motors in rev chasis

The ONLY way you could make 200hp (twin) on 91 octane is with Split Second's 1300 twin, period.

Ive seen almost every variation of 800BB made, even the R's and NONE (Ive seen) of the commercially available ones are above 160. Not EVEN CLOSE to 170. Sorry folks....Most don't crack 155. Stock on this dyno is 138ish for the HO.

After all the hype, most BB 1000-1200 twins come in at 170-185.

Anybody wanting 200hp needs to realize the need to run decent fuel

I have been wanting to say exactly that, If you think you have 200 plus on pump. you are dreaming. I have a 995 (PSI built bt Split Second) that feels like 200 plus & trust me I have Ralphs Dyno sheet that tells me otherwise & if I am not mistaken, don't you have that Dyno now Neil? ... The other problem that you have to deal with is twin pipes. Hard to make serious power without them, & hard to get them to fit properly in the Rev. Ralphs 1300 would give you what you need but $$$$...Anyway PSI & other BB engine builders like to promote 200 plus, I guess that is what sells. I think PSI says my motor is 212 or something like that. I have spent a lot of $$ between Linderman & Ralph & it is still under 200....Just my 02

So, with the above being said - does this info point me towards a triple with the the nightmare of not two pipes, but three, in the rev chassis??? The fuel is a given - if you need to run race fuel, then that's what you have to do!!!

Thanks for your input!!!

If you want to make the big power you are going to have to compromise somewhere. You're not going to make 200 HP on any twin with a single pipe and stock settings unless there is a blower mounted on the end of that pipe, and even then it won't be stock reliable, you will have to compromise. The 809 does fit into that chassis and worked over right could put out 200 HP, Ken at Specialty built one for sure, and there have been others. Neil could build you some pipes. Or like Canucklehead said, bolt a 4 stroke yammy in there with a turbo on it.

In a nice light chassis though, a 180 HP motor will outperform a heavier 200 HP sled, and will likely last longer. Something to think about if this is what you're contemplating.

If you build that 809 into a 890 you can get 200 hp, but again only with the right pipes & you still would want to run at least 50/50. Ask Ken about his, that never did work like it should have, it wasn't the motor, in my opinion it was the pipes...BTW I think those pipes were hand built so that they would fit into that Rev Chassis. I have seen a few of these builds on SW, but only 2 on the hill & they didnt work like other 200 hp sleds...Once again just my 02...I know of a local guy on SW with a vector 3 cyl with a turbo in his Rev, That thing will make a Mark. It is a ton of work but he has some serious power.

We saw one, maybe the same one in Keystone one day... it is the real deal.

Not the carbon fiber one, that guy is a reve local I believe.

Yes, CarbonDaddy on the forum. Its for sale I think if you want to buy it.... :)
Both CF sleds they built were for sale if I remember correct, and with the XP platform being as light as it already is, my guess: we will see an all CF sled in the XP chassis from them next year........I could be way off base though, but it would be what I would do!

Phil is from Central Alberta. It is an awesome setup. It won't go where the good working front mounts Tpex go, but it still works good. he has had a couple of intercooler issues, but one he fixed that it Rocked.:)

Phil or Mclaren(use2bdoo), if you are out there pipe in on this 4m... He is probably hanging around the Yamaha site

later

I have this one for sale

06 rev w/ 1140 crankshop, fairly easy install compared to a few other sleds i've done.

Thanks for all the input. Rode a new XP with a 860 kit yesterday in 2' of fresh (Rabbit Ears). Not all that impressed. The owner of the sled knows how to dial in his stuff, so I'm assuming this thing was as good as it could be. I have a good running, well clutched 06X that held with it just fine except on the long pulls. Now, there was a 1000 cat that had the basics done plus dialed in very well, etc... The thing was a tractor - The torque and HP at the top end kept this thing going. I was impressed. Maybe a good twin with race fuel is what I need, I'll keep kicking around ideas for next year.

Keep info coming!!!

Hey i've got a tripple price engine in my rev. fits well with neils pipes. neils dyno showed big hp and big trk. i may consides a sale for a fair price. i'm thinking in the 13-14g area. doesnt come close to what is into it.

Let's hear about how it runs, change in elivation, temperatures changes, how much time (riding) do you have on this build? Have you had it at +9,000 feet elivation? I pm'd you!
