Milage with turbos.

I'm known to be fairly heavy on the throttle and the one running around and chasing people down. (stuck or lost, or trying to find they way because every ones lost.) But I noticed with the turbo kit I'm burning considerably more fuel. I went threw a full tank in 65 miles. and had to siphon fuel from every one to get back to the truck. (2015 pro W/ Silber kit at 7lbs, Non ECU flash, Dobeck.)

I do have the duel injector set up, but I'm only using one set as they have larger injectors. I don't know the size as this is a used kit I picked up. but I'm still plumbed into the stock injectors as they have the return line to the tank. (not using the primary injectors) Can I by pass those injectors and run just the larger secondary injectors with no return line to the tank? thinking maybe I'm loosing fuel some how threw them?

I know turbos burn more fuel, but I'm damn near at 1/2 the millage. My boss has a turbo on his 17 axis and didn't really notice a difference if mileage. Basic fix would be carry more fuel, which I'm going to. but if I'm missing something, I'd rather fix it.

The upgrade kit would help for sure. Goes from 4 injectors to 2 over sized ones plus a flash.

On all of mine I get better or the same as stock depending on the day.

More HP = More fuel. My turbo gets worse mileage than the NA sleds also. Especially when WFO. If you are boondocking for the most part, I'll get similar. But I find I can burn through a tank quickly, especially when on the gas. No such thing as a turbo getting the same mileage as NA sled unless the guy on the turbo is not on it and takes more breaks. 200HP requires more gas than 140HP. That simple.

That sounds hopeful. Pretty sure I don't get better than stock with my kit but not far off.
On a side note, you bringing a spare turbo sled for us at Arctic Man this year?

Spare? Well we should have a couple Silbers girls there this year soooo... Ha

You can always jump on mine.

Like said above, one of the reason I may get better than a NA sled it I am on top waiting a long time for the NA to reach me. In some cases I just go back down to show them again how easy it was... Hahahahaha

In my experience its heavily dependent on riding style. If I keep the sled in places only an NA sled can go, and ride nice and smooth, I don't burn through gas any faster.

If I'm riding all over the place, not smooth, going wherever I can - yeah, I burn through fuel FAST.

well yea you will burn more gas pushing 200 hp vrs. 140 hp but let off that flipper and make that turboed sled only give you 140 hp and I would be willing to bet that the mileage is the same!?!? or just a little better but I would guess that's all in the mapping and whos got a cleaner burn

I just got a boost it pro rmk, I'm told its running 7#, cannot confirm that, However I'm pleasantly surprised at the fuel consumption, It seems to be close to that of stock for some reason, :face-icon-small-con Then again It could be my riding style too, I'm sure if I was pinning it a lot more It'd suck it back but i find with the turbo I''m just using short bursts and still out doing everybody with a stock machine, so maybe that offsets the consumption for me.

Thanks for the info guys. The last few rides have been in steep/deep threw the trees so definitely WFO... A lot. Just thought I'd ask. Yea my plugs look good and it runs amazing! I can run maybe 1/2 throttle up some stuff and the NA guys even on 2017 have to get a run at it and WFO. Definitely gonna enjoy all this new snow in Cali.

Apples to apples turbos use more fuel.

But , turbos get places faster.

So you take a hill that takes 5 seconds wot to climb on a turbo, or 10 second wot on a stocker.

The stocker will use more fuel in this case

Oil

What sort of oil to fuel ratio are people seeing with Silbers ECU flash?

I have not actually measured mine, but I can tell that I use a ton of oil. Estimating 20:1 on the lite side. Probably use even more. This is with 2-3ft of fresh powder. Trail wise, probably seeing 30:1, which is still pretty rich.

I know using oil is good, but..... this I think might be extreme. Once I get home, I'll get a real number.

Is this what others are seeing as well?

It is heavily using oil, for sure.

But nobody is fouling plugs excessively so I'd call it a "good thing".

Performance won't be hindered even at 20:1 - (which I doubt you are actually seeing) so enjoy the peace of mind!
