Those are some sick pics and quite a bit of snow!! I just picked up my 2012 pro with a 163 and ride around Logan as well, but haven't made it out yet this year.. is that up Tony's grove or where you ridin? thanks

Tony Grove is a little too sketchy for this early in the year. Tony's needs more then 5-6 feet before its safe from the boulders that are up there. Here's some more pics from yesterday!

Love the fly helmet and love the airframes! Can't imagine a sled without them after riding with them.

I was using a Nikor 55-300mm lens with my Nikon D3100, when I took the ones of Chris. That seems to be good size lens, the 18-55 doesn't have much range at all...

Don't want to high jack the thread, but......

Yeah I think that 300mm would be awesome for outdoors. Been looking at the 18-200 for more of a general all around lens.

If you don't mind me asking, how the heck to you pack that thing in? I've been looking at making like a foam sleeve for protection.

Actually yesterday was the first time I've taken it so I'm still trying to find the best way to pack it, but I have a smaller case that fits the body and two lenses and thats pretty much it. Then I just put it in it's own compartment in my back pack. I have seen a kid that put the body it's self in a tupperware container, then the lens in a seperate tupperware container. It looked like it added some more protection.

You're foam idea sounds pretty good. I have a hard case for my spotting scope thats lined with foam that I'm debating cutting places for my camera and lens in that.

Once again great pics!

Curious, do you remember what kind of settings you had for that third pic down?

Keep me posted on what you come up with for "camera protection"
