M1000 Hiccups on the Bottom

Mine did the same hesitation/bog the first two rides. My first mod was a high flow intake and it has never done it again. I now run twin pipes, Attitude box, fuel pressure at 44psi and many miles with no issues??? I hope you boys get it figured out

are you running premium fuel?? i was and had some issues. says right on the owners man to only run 87! i went back to good ol 87 farm fuel and have no issues what so ever any more!

Kris-
I wish it was that easy--
I run my 07 M1000 @ 8,000' and up have the 43-45 fuel pressure
Boonie Box ( dialed in to the nutz)-with the SW system and rkt head
Have to run the higher 91 fuel ... and ran great till the re-flash.......
If you have found the magic cure... bring it- cause this is getting old...
Cat focus is on the DI system now-- it show's cause the 09's are a rich turd:mad:

08 m10 flash is a fat pig!

nearly 900 miles on my 08, -----98 days old.......
always had a bad load up when downhilling, but the scariest was
pulling a WOT 12 seconds in straight up and boooogggggggg, 1300 rpms gone!!.......oh shait i 'm a gonner...........

wick, wick, and WOT again. Happened side by side our demo....pull after pull

only thng i could isolate was stock oil usage was 1:20. and using 91oct
best results have been 1:28 and 85oct, i only ride above 10k...stock clutching rpms ave 7150-7200

only cheers HERE!! sled is flawless now....ear-2-ear :D

never flashed, never in the shop

update:

installed the Black Box BDX and only running 85oct found to really clean it up!
now pulls like never before, after 1300miles now she runs! cleaned clutches and belts, added .060 shim and thrust bearing in 2ndary. Very happy now!

FUEL consumption w/ new intake is incredible! uses 40% less fuel now, and pulls like a grape ape! also ditched the spdwerx can, and now running the ultra-Q---love it!! still running the 08 flash, tho

If this question is for me, yes, I have to run 91 min. One thing is for sure, I am not going to re-flash my 08 after reading all the posts.

What pi$$es me off about Cat is is their inability to work with the after-market on engine maping. Just give up the goods already and let us build our own maps based individual mods. Who buys an M1000 and leaves it stock? Nobody! Who has a stock can on an M1k? Nobody.Wouldnt it be great to order a sled without all the crap you are just going to throw in the trash anyway?

M1000 Performance Problem

One thing that often gets overlooked is the altitude sensor. This is the sensor which adjusts fuel delivery based on atmospheric pressure. This sensor is located in the ecu and senses pressure difference through the clear plastic hose which you see coming from the ecu and disappearing into the bellppan. Many people think this is just a vent hose but that is incorrect. If this hose gets between the air box and the bellypan it can get pinched off and cause all kinds of problems, or it may be routed loose hanging near the pipe which can give a lean problem. Make sure it is clear and routed correctly. Dave E

Wish I had found this thread before I bought my new holdover '08 m1k sp last week! I put 5 miles on it cruising the ditches around my house, and noticed a couple stumbles in that short time:eek:. Hopefully this isnt an indication of things to come for me! Im glad I read about the low octane fuel requierment though, otherwise I would have always used 91. I wonder if I should still run 87 when riding here in the flat lands though?

Took my 07 M1000 in today to have the oil rod clip update and the CCU update. Got a call from the dealer telling me they have a reflash for the ECU but didn't recommend it for riding over 4000' or 5000' I can not remember exact number. Anyway they had not looked at mine to see it was already reflashed. I asked them if there was anyway they could reflash it back and you can guess the response.........."NO"
SO somebody somewhere knows there is a issue now if they can just get on there magic computer and fix the problem.:mad:

I just got news of my dealer sending my box to corp . I don't think the 09 reflash is ready yet . I wish I could just have my original 07 program back . I'll post what I get this third time .

As I have posted before in this thread, My dealer got me an ecu from A,C and it idles a little low now, but runs great...Haven't had cut out ever since...the deep powder bog is still there though...The problem with the ecu the dealer gave me is my altimeter doesn't work and I have been told that A,C is waiting for this "experimental" reflash to recieve epa approval. Was supposed to have something in June or July. Now my dealer won't return my calls and if I call him he sais he's with a customer and will call me back...never does...A,C won't call me back either so I guess I'm stuck with a 08 with no Altimeter!!! If I can't find a better dealer I'm going to jump to Polaris...I love the M-series, but I've been through 2 dealers that don't know **** and A,C is absolutely the WORST in customer service!!!:mad:

Call Michelle at Oregon Trail Sports. She might know and if not at least she won't lie to you or just ignore you. She'll at least call you back and tell you something.:beer;:beer;

Thanks T&A...Do you have a number for her? She has helped me with something before, and I agree...seems to be willing to help with anything...pm me with contact info if you have it.:beer;:beer;

If this is happening only after warm up I would think its a lean situation because during warm up the sleds run rich to get the temp up and to protect the motor, so when its warm it leans out the fuel a little. the only 08 problem I ran across was an injector wire rubbing against the heat sheild that goes over the throttle bodies and when the motor torqued it would bring the wires up and touch the heat shield thus grounding out the system and causing a cut out or kill the motor all together. fixed it and never cut out again, but I don't think this is your problem. but I would keep an eye on it

has any one tried tuning it out with a bd box (up the numbers at 3000 hi)

what we have found is when you idle for an extended time exaust comes back into engine compartment. it then exits out the vents just under the air intakes and is suck back into the motor and cause it to load up which results in the bog when the gas is wacked. if you rub a white paper towel over the vents just under the air intake you can see the exaust soot. we taped the inside of these vents and found it helped alot. hope this helps

I have started threads like this but only got Smart --s comments. The dealer had a factory rep come up to AK and test my sled with their black box and admit that the issues that are being brought up in this thread are due to the ethanol mix they have in Minnesota where they tune the sleds. He adjusted my sled and it does run better. Before he made any changes the dealer had already put a adjustable fuel regulator on mine, checked the oil injection, and mad sure the pick tube for the air density was in the proper location. I like it when you get comments back to buy a $400 Computer to fix the problem. The problem is the fuel mapping was done using ethanol mixed fuel. Hopefully we see a re flash in the areas were there is no Ethanol in the fuel. For 12 grand you would think the fix would be a little faster.
