M-Chassis VS. R.A.W. Chassis

Just wondering how those who have ridden both think they compare? I'm switching from an 07 Dragon to an 08 M1000 snopro and am really hoping that Im not going to be dissapointed! Would love to jump on an 800Dragon but their is none around so the 1000 was pretty much my only other option:beer;

There is no comparison between the two. The M handles ok but is nothing close to the raw. I was gonna buy an M1000 until I rode one

Be prepared

I ride in a group with m7s, dragon 700, and my m1000. The chassis are very similiar, the m7 and dragon handle very close in the powder, on the trail the dragon rides much nicer than an m. The m1000 does not handle like the m7 or dragon, it carries its extra weight in the frond end, and the rear suspension doesn't transfer enough to take the weight off the skis. I stiffened up my front skid shock and took some weight off and I love the sled but it still doesn't handle like its little brother or cousin. You get used to it though.

Where you really notice the difference is in crappy snow, when the snow is deep it handles like a dream.

Nothing that I have rode handles like the Dragon in the powder. That's what I'm used to though. It carves and dives awesome, but don't be mad when it "dives". That is a characteristic of the sled. You have to learn to make that work for you.

I have a 07 rmk 600 and my dad has a 06 m7. I like the Raw better. the M just feels heavy to me. i bit harder to throw around. Maybe I needed more time on it though. Oh and the Bars were too low for me vs the raw. nice sled though. his is a 162 track sno pro. that thing can climb though! but My vote is for the Raw over the M.

You'll miss the weight transfer and trail manners the most. In the pow the M handles great. At 6'2" I'd want a riser and a Boss or comparable seat before leaving the dealership on an M to feel as comfy as a Rev or a Raw.

I have an M7, the gf an 07 600 rmk, and on trail it's no contest, the Raw all the way.. I added a Boss seat to the M and it's waaayyyy better, but still not close to how it "should" be imo. Oh well, can't have it all in one sled I guess.. :beer;

If you’re a trail rider go Raw. If you like to climb go M! But for pure power you can’t go wrong with the M1000. The front end does feel heavy Climbs like no other sled that I have been on. :beer;

I ride a Dragon 700, and I ride with a M1000 just about every time I go riding I wish I had Half of the power the M1000 has...But I do think the RAW fits my body better (taller seat mostly). I dont know if I would trade for one though.

M's sure have a low seat and make you bend your knees a lot. Tuffer to go frm sitting to standing on an M vs a raw. SO I suggest you stay RAW!!

Wish we had more cats out west, sick of beating up doo's on the hills with our poo's...:D

My sled is an 07 M-8 Wifes is a 07 POO 600 155". I liked the RAW a little better overall until I added a BOSS highrise and riser to my M-8. Now it's my favorite to ride by far. You can't go wrong either way they're both great.

it just depends if you want to be carving in the powder or sitting at the top of the hill watching them carve in the powder

I switched this year from an IQ chassis to the M chassis. Both sleds are great but I think I still prefer the IQ over the M. It's just funner to ride and it eats the bumps better. I bought the M for the mod potential of the 1000 motor.

I would have bought the D8 this year but didn't want to feed Poo's ego that they could sell me a small block 800cc sled for $11k!

Thats cheap haha here its 15k
I Know one person with a iq and its pretty good and i rode my budys crossfire and its easy to toss. If i were you id get a m8 b/c the handling and heavy feel is taken away and it wont make much lower of a highmark alos the lower cost

I've got both now (got a really really good deal on a Dragon 800) but don't have much time on the Dragon other than some time on a 700 last year but judging from that they'll be extremely close in the powder (other than the Dragon being down on power from my M8), Dragon is way better on the trails though.

Chris.
