Low Boost Kits

WOW 180 hp is it ?? thats seems a little steep . 5000$ for a 30 hp gain ? why not spend the 7 thousand and get 150 hp over stock

I didn't know the Nytro's put out 150HP stock? More like a 45HP gain I believe and, I'm also one of those going with the low boost kit, just don't need or want over 200HP! Sherm

That is 180 hp anywhere:face-icon-small-hap

A 180 hp 2 smoker has about 100- 110 hp left at 10 000 feet the little turbo will still crank out 180 hp :face-icon-small-hap remember it adjusts boost according to altitude.:D

We could smoke 180+ hp mountain sleds with Turbo phazer's just putting out 140 HP as soon as we got over 7000 feet:D

low boost is retarded why would anyone pay almost as much for a low boost kit whn you can get way more power for not to much more cash seems dumb to me and dont tell me its for reliability because an mcx pump gas kit runs hard and will last a lifetime

Everyone has there opinion I'm not sure why someone who wants to spend 7 grand is so concerned that someone else could be happy with 180hp for 4500 tax paid. If 180 isn't enough we can purchase the upgrades to 240 or 270. Main thing is to be out enjoying it, I having a blast doing this install and didn't want to pull the motor for head shim. This year anyway. Like stated above the gain of the turbo at the hills is the main reason for the install.

A low boost kit is retarded for people that want more just as a more expensive high boost kit is retarded for people that only want 180.
We have always had lots of requests for lower boost level kits and turned down the regular kits to the level of the 180 kit.
This less expensive kit makes great sense for a lot of our customers.
However to buy a MCX low boost kit and plan to upgrade it to a regular kit in the future, is probably a mistake. The cost of the upgrade will be rather high with the additional parts needed.

I love how some people get on these forums and feel the need to bash on a guy. Sledit was nice enough to share and post his input on the MCX 180 hp kit...knowlege for everyone who is intersted.

No kidding.

Not everything has to be a d*ck measuring contest. I'd venture to guess that no more than 5% of the riders out there actually need or can handle any more power than that anyway.

Amen Beels. I ride a big HP Impulse a lot of times and rarely use the available HP as I am not big on climbing. When I had my 200+HP SC, it was just about the right amount of HP, very rarely did I feel the need for more ponies. Personally, I would like a 200 - 220 HP kit just like the ones talked about here. I think that 180 is just a bit underpowered for me.

I would love a low boost set up for my Apex No head shim perfect low end response for boon-docking and around 190-200hp or even 220 with Av gas.

I always turn my boost way down on the TRX1 for boon-docking and technical riding for better control. Playing with the 2 stroke guys they like to go to the short steep climbs without run ins . At that point good throttle response and smooth power delivery is what works, if I have here up at 280+ hp I can not do what is easy with 200 (hold it to the bar and ride the sled)

But I guess I am just a sissy:face-icon-small-hap

Thats OK Sledit, when I get my 180 kit installed you come out to BC and we can still have fun! I also don't know why someone has to bash another sledder for what they want to ride, not all of us need more between our legs to love the sport! Sherm

The new low boost kits seem to be very popular. I think there will be some real good reports as soon as they are on the snow. 180 reliable on pump and an easy install.:D

Sherm it will be great to have a contact out there, we did end up in Sicimous once when socked in at Revy for a while we headed the extra miles to check it out. Weather wasn't much better that trip but did check it out. Not sure where I'll end up this year have had some great trips to Mcbride, some of the guys here are heading for Valmount for sure my brother and a crew always go down to Island Park may have to check that out.

Our weather is always better than Revy's! We'll give you the grande tour if you make it! Sherm

i wasn't meaning to bash any one or there choices . i just thought the $ per hp was a little off. i rode my sled as a low boost kit with a head shim though and wasn't really all that impressed . I should be able to take one out next week and see what there like . I was able to have a look at one today . they seem pretty simple and easy to work on . Quite a few dealers around are selling 09s low boosted for 16 grand ! that's an awesome deal compared to a 2 stroke

Sherm...I hope your good natured generosity will be extended to a few more saskies??? We have (3) 180 kits on order right now, going on my XTX and Tool_mans MTX plus another MTX. We'll be looking for some advice on install from some of you that have put it on already plus a little help with clutching. We are completely pumped about this kit and are literally peeing ourselves waiting for them to show! They are supposed to be in the week of the 13th so we will see!!! There's gonna be a few beers and lotsa cheers coming in the next couple of days. Yeeha!

You Saskies are always welcome at our fire! FYI, I contacted Sweden the other day wondering where our EFI boxes had dissapeared to and low and behold they and the kits were shipped out 14 days ago or something. Sly will be getting my "box" in tomorrow and shipping it out to me so hopefully we'll start getting a few ride reports on these new kits! Let me know if and when you guys can get out this way and we'll set something up for ya! Sherm
