Lost Lake

Lost Lake was “Fair” today, the wind overnight blew off the fresh snow and it was cloudy and snowing most of the day. We still found a little untracked snow in the trees but it was getting harder to find. The fire house trail was tore up today thanks to 4 young teens:(. These guys were some door knobs; we almost had to break up a fist fight between them. Also picked up lots of empty Miller Lite cans that ticked off some other riders also picking them up. 3 days straight of riding....I’m sore, I must be getting old....

wednesday

Went up firehouse trail bumpy but it always pays off on top 6" to 8" in most places not to tracked up, good spring type riding.Rode a hawk for the first time pretty cool ! tried to keep up with dans turbo nytro on the lake not going to happen. 90 mph track speed on hill is nice to. blue bird all day !!! Also do not forget to watch the speedo when going home! I thanked the trooper for not giving me a ticket!:D:D:D

Beautiful day, barely a cloud in the sky. Snow wasn't great but who cares! We rode from Snug clear over to Firemans and Primrose. Burned a good 10 gallons of fuel in about 5 hours. :) This was my first ride to Lost lake this year that it wasn't snowing or raining. What a beautiful place, I had forgotten how much I liked the area.

Who was the crazy that ended up taking a ride through the rocks after running up that chute on the Snug side? Looked like one hell of a ride!

Any Report on Conditions?

Anyone ride Lost Lake recently?
Is Firemans do-able, or is it ice? What about Primrose- is it 7 miles of kidney busting moguls? What about conditions up top?

Any info would be appreciated- thx

rode snug on um tuesday and the trail in was still in good shape and it was snowing hard for the 4 hours we were there we never made it past v max

Rode Firemans today, put 13 miles on and turned back. Snow was wet and heavy with a very firm base. You could carve but side hilling could be sketchy as the rear end was prone to washing out over the base. Trail in was bumpy as usual but not bad so long as you had enough momentum to carry you over the icy spots. The light was as bad as it gets most of the time. Should be good spring riding on the next sunny day.

Firemans

Fireman's was not nearly as icy as it ussually is, but pretty moguled. Snow was firm and wet. You could go anywhere...at least anywhere you could see- very falt light and 1/4 mile vis in snow.

hey bgreen i thought that was you on the bad boy 1000 Mooo the snow got better the further we went the snow wazent wet further out. light was verry bad :eek:but still better than going to work:D:Di l learned that a triple 1200 kiks azz wow mark like:D:D

He He, that was me. Did ya catch me botch my turn out on that side hill? lol. Didn't bust the windshield so I was happy.

Your group was doing some awesome jumps at the top of that one hill where we met up. Those youngins are going to be great riders! (well, they already are, I can't imagine them in another 5 years.

The light was so bad we just called it quits. With only one other guy we were hesitant to ride much in case one of us ended 10 feet down in some hole. Todays ride was much better though, Caribou Hills snow was hard but the weather was awesome.

Which sled had the 1200? Pretty much everyone in your group looked to be set up pretty well.

Lost Lake today!

Went up to Lost Lake Primrose way. Lost Lake had great snow. Trail was HORRIBLE. Windy as heck, but sunny and beautiful. Had a great time. Lots of other riders up there also.:face-icon-small-win

Snow was great Saturday! Lots of places to ride that were untouched and out of the wind. Best ride I've had all season! Trail leaves you a little wrecked though, but well worth it.

Anyone been to Lost Lake via Snug Harbor lately? Just wondering if that's a better route these days instead of Primrose trail.

Also where is the "v max" referenced in some earlier messages on this thread??
