Lost Lake?

Your right, Alaskan Girls do rock! Carly is a wonderful person, very humble, kind, and a lot of fun to be around. Google her name and you'll see several good articles about her racing career.

X2

She is a great gal and my boy like most, has been in lust with her for years. She won the womens pro championship for the lower 48 snowcross circut last year. There were only a couple of moto's she didn't win! She and Cory are both off to a good start again this year. Best of luck to both of them.

The old parking lot was big enough to turn a 4 place around IF no one else was there LOL... the new lot is up a bit further on the right and can easily fit 20 rigs with trailers. The problem this past week has been the road getting up there. A lot of rain and warm temps have reeked havoc on the road ~ very slick still with glaciation. Lot of guys tried it Sun/Mon and couldn't even make it up to the parking lot.

For those going up Firehouse and Prim ~ please let off the throttle just a little bit on the trail in spots where it is already trenched/iced up ~ it only makes it worse for the next guy. Thanks :) :)

i agree with blondz some of the guys need to get momentum and speed from the parking lot so u make it up the first hump at firemans and then your good to go dont put put up to an ice chute and then punch it:face-icon-small-fro:mad:

When those trails do turn to sheet ice and the carange starts to happen, PLEASE PICK UP YOUR BROKEN PARTS AND PACK THEM OUT!!! That place (Firemans) is embarrassing in the springtime. It is no wonder we as sledders get some of the labels that we do. There is no reason to leave all the broken windshields and tail lights lay where they fall. This goes for blown belts up top as well. It cringe when hiking in the summer or hunting season and finding belts all over the place. Pack them out and then toss them. It's not that hard. Rant over

Matt-

I doubt your truck/trailer (read: Train) will be able to move through the firehouse parking lot. It's blocked off by 11am usually.

A shorty will be fine, snow is setting up already, some friends went yesterday.

What about Primrose? Is there room there and do you access that trail by taking the primrose spur road?

I've seen the pics of your "train". Yes, you can get it in and out of there if you get there early (about an hour before daylight) and may have to wait for things to clear up to get out. And yes, it is the Primrose spur road to the end where there is a campground and that is the trailhead. It's the 1st left after you cross the Snow river as goes into Kenai lake. The Hiway will make a sharp bend to the left after crossing the river, and right at the end of the guard rail as you are going around the corner is the road. Kinda sneaks up on you if you don't know it's there or are busy bsing in the truck.

Good to see you on here Justin. Yes it's me. I'm hoping to go but I have family in town from out of state (Arizona & Oregon) so kind of waiting to see if they want to go. I took them up to Petersville last weekend and we had a good time there but if they don't want to go again I'd feel bad leaving town without them when I only see them about once every 3-5 years. Last time we were all together was 2000. Are you going? Do you have a sled now? Your dad doing any riding this year? I'm trying to get some miles on my new sled every chance I get.

I'll win

yeah i bought a M7 a couple years back........trying to sell it to my dad but....dont thing mom will go for it!!!!! yeah we went up to caribou hills last weekend for x-mas so that was pretty funn......trying to decide on LL dont really want to battle all the people....but LL has the snow so......we need to go some time!!!!!!!

Another fun day at LL with my son and a friend. Blue Bird sky's and mid 20's temps. The snow is really setting up but there is plenty of untouched area for all of you to play in on Saturday/Sunday. We went up Primrose again and it wasN'T real bad. A couple of icy spots but doable. Hope you all have fun this weekend! :D:beer;:beer;

Thanks for the update. That looks like Superman snow. Sure looks different than it did on Sunday. It will be a good time this weekend with or without some more fresh. Beats working around the house:D

LL 12/31/09 Firemen Trail

Was first in the lot this morning and first up... Trail up was ICY and had to huck the sleds around the switchback trail near the bottom. after that it was not too bad as long as you kept your momentum going up...

Was PERFECT weather...only 15-20 riders is all we saw all day and one plane looking like it was going to land on the lake after a few fly byes...it did not...

We came down around 3 this afternoon... was iced up near the bottom but again once you got up the hill a bit it was not bad...

Only 4-5 rigs in the lot. As we headed north, seen a dozen or so rigs pulling southbound. roads WERE/ARE very ICY.. several roll overs south of Moose Pass...CAREFUL.. and have a HAPPY New Year!!

Nice day at lost lake!! Trail was typical Primrose bumpy as heck but not to icy yet. A little ice on the first chute but otherwise great. Snow up top was windblown and hard pack but still found untouched snow with the new 162. Bluebird all day. If there would have been more fresh it would have been the perfect day!! At least for our group.:D
Hope those other guys got out ok. Ripped my side panel off the M7 trying to go around broke sleds in the middle of the trail. Hope my kids sled helped em out. :D:D:beer;:beer;

ur kids little blue sled is still on the trail. We came along and convinced them to leave the broken machine on the side of the trail and go back and get it today. Two machines together couldnt pull that broken one up the icy chute on a corner right passed the little bridge. When we got up on them, the whole rear skid was detached and dragging from the tunnel. Awesome day up on the moutain. found some untouched snow and had a great day. husband was able to put 40 miles on his new m8 sno pro.

Happy New Year everyone. going back up again tomorrow. pray for some new snow.

Kick *** day

Awesome views, hit a new peak. Ok snow, traffic jam on the trail, somebody almost found a hole. :eek:
