Looking at going 4 stroke, whats the best boosted system out there?

LOL, one and only! I did say thinking, I might still be a season away though, we'll see. Some pretty nice builds out there and with how my POS 2ST ran I'm not impressed. lol

running pretty good that day we saw you in Tigre there. Still can't believe you stuck her where you did without her coming back down.

Ya I know right!!!! That was agood one, would have been a good climb if she hadn't of spun around on me!!! But that was only 1 of 2 days that it ran good all season.(I was only out about 10 times.) Had issues from broken pistons, seized Mag bearing, failure fuel pressure regulator, and now over boosting and I don't have that figured out yet.

I love the sled, but I want to ride and no be broken down every 4/5 rides. I'll probably give it one more season, but if it don't run more consistent day in and day out, I'll be going 4 stroke for sure. Still may buy one before the season starts if I can find a sweet deal!!!

a downside to 4strokes is oil coming out the breather and losing oil pressure when they are upsidedown, a tether and a rollover valve is necessary if your sleds have a tendancy to be track up!

I run a Boondocker and am happy with it. Just like any other kit it is all in how you set it up. The only thing I don't like about it is the first generation trail tank that came with it. Everything else has worked well for me.

Because IMO it's not even on the list

That's a pretty dumb statement IMO there are plenty of good running BD turbo setups out there 90% of how these sleds perform is in the install. Like any make of sled you can take the best aftermarket equipment with a bad install and have a POS performing sled. I can say the same thing for some MCX equipped sleds that run like crap but its not MCX'S fault that an oil line comes loose or an exhaust doughnut blows out!

I tend to disagree a bit. The fuel control is a big issue and the way boondocker does it isn't the best. Plus front mount IMO has a few pluses but a ton of draw backs. Be intresting to see a chart of how many of each kit builders kits are on the snow. MCX the way the secondary fuel system works very well and day in and day out runs.

Ok MCX since starting turbo kits for snowmobiles has over 5000 kits world wide on the snow. That's alot of learning along the way and alot of customers. I don't know how many nytro kits but Landon said over 400 MCX 180 kits a lone so I bet ya in the 1500 range. That's a ton of kits !!! And a ton of knowledge out there!!

I bet all the other manufacturers added together havent sold 1500 nytro kits :face-icon-small-win

Really over 5000 kits on snowmobiles? Not quads or bikes just sleds? I have a hard time believing that.

Last November when Erik and Alf were in Prince George they said they had produced over 4500 snowmobile turbo kits so far......so they are well over 5,000 now. In Sweden financials are full disclosure for all to see........They are a AAA company in Sweden. Can probably find the information if you want.
I know they have literally hundred of 16 and 19T's in stock and any given time.

Safe sleddin

Fair enough Randy they are a great company. But when "5000 kits world wide"? How many 4 strokes are out there? You can get that info. If a 1\4 have turbos on them and i doubt that the numbers would be that high and lets just say there all mcx and there not. You going to tell me there was 20000 sleds sold since the rx1? Just asking

And they have also sold Mcx kit for some years now to Skidoo 1200.

Taken from McX web.page:
MC Xpress is a reliable company
MC Xpress has reached the highest credit worthiness you can get in Sweden. MC Xpress is a reliable company. That is good to know for both the customers and suppliers.
Since 1991 a company in the north of Sweden has been the world leader in producing and mounting powerful turbo kits on Motorcycles, Snowmobiles and
ATV: s.
Several world records speak its own Language.

The goal is to manufacture Supreme quality for extreme use
that’s what the Supreme of the extreme logo really mean.

Ya... thats great tarzan, there was no four stroke in 1991. and yes thanks for informing me there is kits for the 1200 doo. We are talking Yamaha. Useless facts but yet interesting to hear the numbers.

R1 they have alot of kits out on the bikes! but alot more years for development and selling kits also

rx1, apex, nytro, 5000 is alot of kits! strictly on sleds that is!

2003-2010 is 8 total model years of sleds, 625 kits every year on average isnt that hard to believe worldwide but there were alot of turbo manufacturers that took their slice of the pie as well! Boondockers claim to fame was their price for the apex kits, their motto was cheaper price, more volume of sales, and I think it worked for them durring the apex era.
